House was wonderful for a large group. We appreciated the ample space, enjoyed having 2 refrigerators on the main level and the firewood was provided. It was so nice not having to worry about having enough seating for everyone and the cove felt very safe. We had a great stay!
Great spot for a family visit celebrating 3 birthdays. House accommodated 10 people easily. Plenty of space for all. Very clean and relaxing location. We all had a great time.
We had a wonderful time at our family reunion. Plenty of room, everything was great. Communication was very good and everything was working and the place was very clean. Would go back again. Great location.
We really enjoyed our stay! The water was warm and very calm fur kayaking and paddle boarding. We also rented a boat but spent many days just lounging on the dock. The house had everything we needed but it was a 10 minute drive to town for groceries.
Great place to stay for a medium sized group. The info regarding the entry gate to the community was not clear, but other than that, everything was awesome!
The property was excellent clean and great communication with property manager.
The property was amazing great view great communication with management and owner. The property was very clean. The only thing I would recommend would be new towels and wash rags.
The home was exactly as advertised, with plenty of room for all to be together or find a nook for reading. The owners were very quick to answer any and all questions. We found an abundance of hikes within a 30-45 minute beautiful car ride at the many state parks. We also enjoyed the kayaks and water slide. I highly recommend this home.
We got all of our family together and spent three days together celebrating Christmas. We had a wonderful time and had plenty of room in the kitchen for all the cooking we did. With it being winter we weren’t able to enjoy the lake but it would be amazing during the summer!!!
We really enjoyed ourselves. Off season the lake house is on a quiet and peaceful cove. Lovely view. We were a large group of 60+ adults and there was plenty of room to spread out when we wanted to and also large spaces to gather. Kitchen was very well equipped. Just a heads up, if anyone in your group needs an ADA compliant bathroom or access through interior doors etc. unfortunately this is not the place.
house was very clean and wellorganized! lots of space for everyone to spread out and everything minus laundry soap were included. Very pleased with the inside of the house however the outside areas left something to be desired. Two tier dock needed completely rebuilt wood was rotted and boards were sticking up (which we were told is happening next week) The fire pit area looked like we had come in right after a party (cans cigarette butts etc), the house decks needed a furniture overhaul and a good blowing off, and the hot tub cover replaced. The management company did drop off new chairs halfway through our stay. The house does sit in the cove with everyone on their decks you can hear echo of what’s going on (which didn’t bother us but) music, toddlers, dogs, etc. so if noise bothers you, maybe this isn’t the house for you. Also as stated no cell service with AT&T. We relied on the house’s Wi-Fi, which worked great. Overall great house for a large crowd, and it looks like the outdoor amenities are going to be improved upon for the lucky people after us!
The house was awesome. Everything was clean. Main floor was large - more than enough room for the 17 of us. The decks were large and enjoyable. Second and third floor common areas were really nice. Bedrooms were great. Some beds were ok. Most were very good.Wonderful kitchen. The two dishwashers were a nice plus. Loved the fire pit. Swimming was loved by all. We rented a pontoon boat from Oasis and that worked out great. Our four-family annual gathering was blessed by all the house had to offer.
We booked this cabin for my husbands graduation weekend. The cabin was clean and beautiful. The best part was all of the space. Everyone had their own bathroom and plenty of room to not feel crowded. We loved the lake enjoyed our evening swimming and enjoying the back porch! The host was very accommodating prior to arrival and helped me plan the trip perfectly. A storm came through and a tree fell down across the driveway prior to us leaving for my husbands graduation. After contacting the host she called and got us to the top of the list for someone to bring a chainsaw and help us get out. We made it just in time for my husband to graduate!!!
My family and I came for a post-Christmas gathering and a chance to be all together under one roof. There was plenty of room for all of us and space to be with the whole crowd or move to a different part of the house when we needed some quiet! We especially loved that there were laundry facilities on two levels and two dishwashers in the main kitchen. With all the hills, we definitely didn't have to worry about missing leg day, just climb that driveway three or four times. The hosts checked in throughout the stay and even left a little care package which came in handy for someone who forgot their bath gel (plus, who doesn't like Chex mix).
If you haven't been to this area before, know that arriving in daylight would be a good idea with all the winding roads. Overall a great experience!
wonderful house great location, recommend a couple of things. First one of the coffee pots does not work, a pod style maker would be really nice as well. The toaster only works on one side. for a house this big we have always had 2 four slice toasters. A Blackstone grill would be great as we brought our own from home. There are always small issues that are not worth mentioning because the house is that good. I am 63 years old, and I don't know how many more years I can do the steps to the lake.
House was great and the dock was fantastic. Two of us had boats and they fit well. Overall the house was awesome. We would definitely rent again. A few things to check on. The ice machine isn’t capable of producing enough ice for an entire family. We had 20 people and constantly had to run out and get ice. The counter top ice machine in the basement is moldy and need cleaning badly. We didn’t ice from that machine. The ice maker in the one refrigerator didn’t work. Also the steps down to the fire pit could use some lights. A couple members of our family stumbled their way down and most of them were sober at the time lol. Those things are minor and the trip, location, and host were awesome.
Our August stay at Southern Comfort was awesome! We spent the whole week swimming, boating, and hanging out on the dock. We loved the fire pit, baking, geocaching, reading, hot tubbing, playing ping pong and board games. The area is absolutely gorgeous, particularly with coffee in-hand on an early summer morning when the fog hasn’t yet cleared. The house was very clean and quite comfortable, and the kitchen was large enough for two to three people cooking and baking, and even had some bonus appliances like an instant pot! There was plenty of room in the whole house for our group of 19 (half of which were kids under 10), and we appreciated that just about every bedroom had its own bathroom. It might be worth noting that not all of the bedrooms have ceiling fans, and a few people mentioned it was warm in their rooms at night. We did have a couple of things arise during the week, and Mary Beth, who was absolutely a pleasure to interact with, responded quickly, and had someone out to fix things within the day. For future renters, I would mention two things that you should know, though they don’t reflect on the house or owner. One, that the driveway to the property is quite steep; something to be aware of if you have a high-profile vehicle like some in our group. And second, be aware that the area has a 10pm noise curfew, and sound really carries on the water; if you have children who are in bed before then, we recommend bringing sound machines. All in all, loved it!
This is a beautiful house! The kitchen is a dream for a large crowd like we are, I have a family of 18 and we had plenty of room. The host was wonderful to work with. We plan on staying again.
