Husband’s 50th birthday weekend

Thanksgiving Retreat

This was a perfect spot for us to celebrate Thanksgiving with family. The kitchen was perfect for cooking/entertaining. Spacious sleeping arrangements. Beautiful expansive property. Perfect for star gazing!!! Highly recommend this location for bringing people together!

Wedding stay

Had a wedding at stone venue and house was very convenient to go back and forth. Morning and evening were cool but days were still hot, would have been nice to have a working pool on site for kids Landscape of grounds needed some work,and a good dusting of all house. Overall had a good experience and enjoyed our stay.

Great place to stay!

Our daughter graduated from TX State & our whole family came out for the weekend. There were many of us, but the house is so big, we didn’t feel like we were stepping over each other. Communications between the owner were top notch: every message was answered immediately. We had no complaints & enjoyed our stay in comfort & peace.

The inside of the property was impeccable and there was a ton of room. The upkeep of the outdoor property was a little lacking, but didn't affect our stay.

Great House

This house has lots of room and was just what we needed for us college kid parents and have the kids join us for a relaxing weekend. The description says there is a hot tub but we didn’t see one. Other than that it’s a great rental!

Ideal Family Stay for Texas Old Town Wedding

Only three minutes drive from the Texas Old Town reception venue, the house was spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable for a family visit. During our stay, the pool was out of service, however the owners and property manager arranged for a very nice alternative at a new local community pool.

Excellent Home

This home was beautiful, clean and had so much room that allowed our family to get together comfortably! We used this as our place to stay before and after our wedding at Texas Old Town and had more than enough space to host our rehearsal and family & bridal party dinner! In the morning we even saw two deer in the yard while we were enjoying our morning coffee. We were so grateful for a comfortable large space. The hosts were quick to respond with any questions. Thank you for allowing us to use this home!

Horrible horrible

House looks horrible compared to online photos. Cameras are watching you so no privacy! Wasps in the house. Half the lights didn't work. Broken stuff in the house so watch out because host will charge you for them.

Good but could of been better

Although the stay at this house was good. Be weary about what you are getting when you rent this home. We rented this house under false information thinking it had a pool. Other houses were cheaper without one. Less then a month before we were staying there, we found out that the pool would not be available. Their only response was other people would rent it at same price with no pool. I was planning my daughters wedding and had no time to look for another place. I only asked for a free early check in and free late checkout and they could not even give me that, they did nothing to compensate for no pool. Not sure why pool could not be fixed? It’s 100 degrees here in Texas.

The property was completely unacceptable!

There was trash and garbage all over the yard & inside of the house. The pool was full of scorpions, insects, leaves, & grass. There were wasp nests all around the eaves of the house but primarily active nests at the front & back doors. A dead rotting skunk carcass in the yard & that stunk terribly only feet away from where we wanted to have the rehearsal dinner outside underneath the lights in the backyard. No towels and no soap. The wood floor was so filthy you could see our footprints in the dust. The kitchen countertops had food and dried liquids all over them. Our shoes stuck to the kitchen tile floor. The air conditioner intake & filters were filthy. The back porch with spider webs, dead bugs, layers of dirt on the chairs and cushions. 3 of the beds were missing sheets. The chandelier over the dining table was covered in spider webs. The whole front porch, swings & cushions had layers of dirt and bird poop on them. The wicker swing in the tree was a safety hazard. On Saturday, knowing that our family (10 adults, three children under the age of three could not live in the current situation) and guests were going to be there that afternoon and expected the rehearsal dinner, we worked crazy hard to make the house presentable. No willingness of the owner or the property assistant manager to work with us for a solution to get it cleaned.

TX State Graduation Stay

This house worked for us to see our daughter graduate from TX State! We had a range of guest from 5 months old to 76. The location was perfect as it was 5 minutes from my daughter, and a quick ride getting to the graduation, restaurants, HEB, etc. The beds were comfortable, though a bit high to get some of the grandparents into bed. We did utilize a step stool on property to assist. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors which we enjoyed gathering and spending time together. I do feel the upkeep of the house could use some attention. Our socks were black after walking around inside, broken curtain rod in the master bathroom (leaving a large window exposed), microwave not working properly, left ice cream in the freezer, yard overgrown with long weeds and grass, weathered outdoor furniture, rotting wood on the house. The animal rug in the living room had curled edges, I was worried someone would trip. I felt the house was cleaner when we left versus how we found it. The backyard has two pools, the deck pool looked decommissioned with dark, dirty water. The other looks as if it was just built, very nice and inviting. I would recommend labeling the light switches, there are so many and we could never figure out what switches go to which lights. Great HVAC system, as we had to use heat and AC. Called the VRBO # due to alarm system beeping, he wasn’t the owner of the home but helps manage it. He had no idea what to do, so I hit buttons till it stopped. Overall, it worked!

Nice property in Kyle TX

The house is very nice & as pictured in the listing. Great touches like leaving us wine & breakfast food. It’s winter so we didn’t get to use the pool, but the pool/deck area is nice. The property was perfect for what we were looking for, which was an event venue for a small wedding. Other than that, you’d have to have a reason to be in Kyle TX to take advantage of the area, which is nothing special from a recreation, etc. standpoint.

Perfect Home and Location for Texas State Graduation!!!

We were hosting family for our daughter's TXST graduation and this home accommodated our entire family perfectly. The location allowed us to avoid I-35 and sneak into San Marcos the back way, only a 15 minute commute. The field beyond the backyard has a beautiful hill country view that allowed us to capture gorgeous cap and gown photos of our girl. The home was absolutely perfect for entertaining! The spacious kitchen made it easy to set up a fajita buffet, along with appetizers, drink station, and dessert bar. The split layout and second living space allowed everyone to spread out. It was nothing less than perfection! All guests had positive things to say about their comfortable mattresses, pillows, and fresh linens. A unique feature that isn't shown on the listing is a dressing table located next to a window in the master bathroom, which made make-up application ideal for our special event. The photos on the VRBO website don't do this home justice! The decor and furnishings are so unique, warm and inviting. We all had the same expressions when we walked in and the decorated Christmas tree was an unexpected surprise. The host was quick to respond to a couple of questions we had during our stay. We were pleasantly surprised that many of the departing duties that are usually required at vacation rentals were not requested. The only con was the backyard could use some maintenance (tall grass in some areas, overgrown shrubs, and tree debris), but the interior and view made up for it. Overall, it was a great stay and look forward to booking again! Eat 'Em Up, Cats!

Amazing place for families.

We had a few minor issues upon arrival but they replied promptly and sent owner to resolve. It is spacious and beautifully decorated. We sat on the porch and watched deer. The pool looked great but it was cold and rained. We can’t wait to come back when it’s warmer. Great place for family to come and enjoy. It was a few blocks from the wedding venue we attended. Loved the place and highly recommend. We will be back.
