"It is located near the Ainu village. There is only one main street selling souvenirs and a watson store. There is a path around lake Akan that you can stroll on. That is about 20 minutes walk from the hotel. The onsen on the eight floor was beautiful overlooking the lake akan, but i did not get to use it. They have funky system, odd days women use eight floor. The men use the basement onsen. On even day it’s reversed. The onsen on the basement is still good. The dinner and breakfast buffet are excellent."

"Perfect example of not judging based on pictures. While the rooms are dated they are immaculate. Not a stray hair or spec of dust in our room. Excellent service and friendly staff. The AC issue did bother us and the room had a closed off smell. Lovely view and enjoyable breakfast buffet. Plus all their power is sourced from solar and a screen near the elevators shows the solar array power generation which is an added benefit for green energy nerds."

"Staff is very nice and accomodating.Lake front facility, facing great view of the lake. Though small, town is very nice and it has unique character. Room is great but not elegant but I have no reason to complain. Hotel breakfast is very good, I did not try dinner there and assume Japanese food items. Note that food choices outside are limited and many restuarants close by 6PM. Only a ramen place was open late and it was good food there although people smoke inside. If you are driving, make sure gas tank is full as there are not many gas stations in this area of Hokkaido and even those exists open late in the morning. I was a solo traveller, hiker and I truly enjopyed everything there."

"This property is idealy located if the transportation from the AirPort is Important - it is door to door. The staff were very helpful and room was very clean. Not speaking Japanese made it difficult for me at times. For example there are 3 options for breakfast which staff might have explained to me but i did not understand. It did not matter as normally i like to eat outside hotel but the full breakfast on the last night was very good. "

"This is a beautiful hotel with great views of the river and countryside. It is quiet and the rooms are very nice. I used the private baths with no waiting. The bar is a great whisky and wine bar. Complimentary ramen was very nice and filling. Other snacks are also given free. Staff were so friendly, and managed around my language barrier with ease and friendliness."
