The Kumbam (the apex or the bulbous structure on the top) weighs around 80 tons.There is a big statue of Nandi (sacred bull), carved out of a single rock measuring about 16 ft (4.9 m) long and 13 ft (4.0 m) high at the entrance.[ The entire temple structure is made out of granite, the nearest sources of which are about 60 km to the west of temple. The temple is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Tamil Nadu.

I’ve stayed at Chola Dynasty Hotel three times over the past three years and each visit has been consistently excellent. The rooms are safe, quiet, and comfortable, making it easy to relax. Parking is hassle-free, which is a big plus. The restaurant deserves a special mention — the food is always enjoyable and well-prepared. Overall, a reliable and welcoming place to stay, and I’ll definitely return again.

We stayed in Cholaa Dynasty for 4 nights. Its clean and neat and friendly staffs. Very helpful and attend to your needs immediately. Food at the restaurant was good and all four days breakfast we had different food. Rooms were pretty big and each room had different settings. we were a group of 8 and all had good comments about the hotel and food.

The hospitality of the staff in the dining services were very good! Did not like the towels and bed clothes! They appeared not clean. There was a sudden flush of dirty water in the bathroom (brown). The staff immediately attended to it. They said it was coming from cleaning the tank. So that was upsetting!

My stay @CHOLA DYNASTY HOTEL

Amenities are not Senior Citizen friendly. Please install seat raiser and grab rails for the toilet. Toilet and room furniture are both low slung. Difficult for us to get up from these. Your food menu must be typical of the Tanjore variety. It is absolutely devoid of character. Your clientele will be more interested in Temple tourism and hence seniors would be proportionately more. As they do in Kamala Palace Hotel in Hampi have tourist guides well versed in Chola History and Siva Vaishnava temple lore. Arrange for your own tour services including vehicle,guide and packed wheelchair and light food and drink so that the tourists have comprehensive and satisfying experience of staying with you. Evolve tour packages. Thank you and best wishes for your growth.

The hotel was OK but not great. I did not feel welcomed by the front desk staff. The room was clean and good-sized. The front decorations were very good. The bed was comfortable. The AC had to be switched on every time we come into the room. Where was a power interruption the AC had to be switched on again. The restaurant was subpar. The breakfast was decent and had some unique items like "pazhaya soru" and "raagi kanji". The dinner selections and taste were poor. We have masala chai and one day it was great and the next day it was not - issue with not being consistent. Overall it was OK, but has room to improve.

Very dirty bedsheet's with blood stains , pillow covers , bathroom towels unsafe . Had to request every change . Lizard in room . Internet choppy. Food horrible . Spa folks are arrogant and multiple appointments cancelled . Hotel disowns them and restaurant in a subtle way . Nothing close by - it’s a village town so nothing else . Last they trip the power to stop the air conditioning so can’t sleep properly in night too. You have to restart once you wake up .
