Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kravany?
The best area to stay in Kravany is typically within the village centre itself, as it offers the most convenient access to local amenities and the surrounding natural beauty.

Kravany is a small, picturesque village located in the KoŔice Region of Slovakia, known for its tranquil environment and proximity to the High Tatras mountains. The village centre is compact and easy to navigate on foot, with local guesthouses and family-run accommodation options often situated near the main road or the local church. You'll find a few small shops and traditional eateries here.

For couples seeking a quiet retreat with opportunities for outdoor activities, staying in the village centre is ideal. It provides a peaceful base to explore the nearby hiking trails, enjoy the stunning mountain views, and experience local Slovak culture without the hustle and bustle of larger towns. Many accommodations offer beautiful garden spaces, great for relaxing after a day of exploring.

Families will also find the village centre of Kravany suitable due to its calm atmosphere and access to nature. Children can enjoy the open spaces, and the family can easily embark on day trips to national parks or nearby attractions like historical castles.
When is the best time to go to Kravany?
The best time to visit Kravany is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is warm and sunny, making it ideal for outdoor activities.

During this period, you'll find the temperatures pleasant for exploring the surrounding High Tatras region, with average highs around 20-25Ā°C. This is great for hiking, cycling, and enjoying the natural beauty of the area. Families will particularly appreciate the long daylight hours and the opportunity to spend full days outdoors, perhaps visiting nearby Å trbskĆ© Pleso or TatranskĆ” Lomnica for lake activities or cable car rides.

Alternatively, the shoulder seasons of May and September offer a quieter experience with comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 15-20Ā°C. These months are excellent for couples looking for a more peaceful break, as the summer crowds have thinned out.
