The best area to stay in Kormísta is the village centre, particularly around the main square.

This area is the heart of Kormísta, offering a central and convenient base for exploring the region. The main square is a focal point, often surrounded by traditional tavernas and local shops. You'll find the local church nearby, and the streets radiating from the square are generally quiet and easy to navigate on foot.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will find the village centre appealing. It provides a genuine taste of Greek village life, with opportunities to enjoy local cuisine and experience the slower pace. The proximity to the main square means you're never far from a pleasant evening meal or a morning coffee.

For those planning to explore the wider region, staying in the village centre offers good access to the main roads leading to nearby attractions like the archaeological site of Philippi or the beaches of Kavala.

The best time to go to Kormísta is during late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to October).

These periods offer pleasant temperatures, typically ranging from the high teens to mid-twenties Celsius, which are ideal for exploring the natural beauty and historical sites without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience.

For those looking to enjoy outdoor activities like hiking or visiting archaeological sites, the milder weather in spring and autumn is perfect. You can comfortably explore the nearby ancient city of Philippi or enjoy walks in the surrounding countryside. The olive groves and vineyards are particularly picturesque during these seasons.

If you prefer warmer weather for swimming and beach activities, July and August are suitable, though it can get quite hot, often exceeding 30 degrees Celsius. While Kormísta itself isn't on the coast, it's a short drive to beaches in the Kavala region, which are popular during these months.
