Wayne and his wife were exceptional hosts in all respects. In fact, our stay at Bethulie was the absolute highlights of our drive from George to Durban. We are grateful for all the invaluable wealth of information about the area provided to us by our hosts and the incedibly warm welcome we received at a truly iconic, stately farm house that is over 125 years old. The facilities and room we stayed at are impeccably clean and filled with timeless, classical furnishings which transports one to an era long past. We urge any visitors to this area to make sure you stay at the "White House" in Bethulie. You will not be disappointed.
Great hospitality. The host and her team were very friendly. Large spacious room and fireplace in the bedroom for those cold winter nights. It very cold however the bed had electric blankets to keep us warm and the fireplace. The wifi was pumping fast.
The guesthouse is on the outskirt of town therefore it was tranquil. Breakfast was filling and scrumptious. It was a very nice stop on our roadtrip around South Africa. We will most definitely visit again and highly recommend the guesthouse.
We didn't expect anything as we were passing through on our way south but were pleasantly surprised of this beautiful and unique farm. The manager Kobus will gladly attend to all your wishes and on request, he even dimmed every possible light to let us gaze at the beautiful starfilled sky. This is what our ancestors of pre-industrialized times must have seen and it was simply amazing. Judging the breakfast we can only conclude that Kobus would have made a great chef. Definitely recommended.
Kobus is a very hospitable, warm and welcoming manger with a great sense of humour. As a honeymoon couple we were really taken care of and he took the time to go out of his way to make our stay comfortable.
