This is not a 5 stars hotel, not even 5 stars hostel. I will try to summarize it as much as possible, because we had a very bad experience.
We booked the vacation with a baby, no sign was shown that the hotel didn’t suit for a baby - all on the mountains with a lot of stairs. No access to the main village, only from the beach and the sand, not trivial with a stroller.
We stayed because we still had a good memory from Santhiya Koh Chang from 3 years ago. We took a room with a private pool - in practice the building was deserted, dirty and distant from the main area. We added more money to change room and we got an “upgrade” to a villa, which in practice was very old and in bad condition: full of ants, dirty, neglected with broken facilities, aka I felt like I’m coming to camping instead of relaxing. We stayed there because we didn’t want to complain anymore.
About the hotel itself - it looks like they haven’t recovered from covid yet. The hotel area is huge and they are absolutely understaffed. There was no gym, only a small and broken room that you had to book ahead. The pool was super dirty and disgusting during rain situations.
At the last night we cane back to the room and found out that it was full of flying insects all over the place - the toilet and the sheets. Immediately we demanded to move, and then we had to pack again and move to another villa, which was way better. It just clarified us that the hotel gives very bad and neglected rooms to customers with a very hig
