10/10 Excellent

"Very nice hotel, large rooms, recently renovated, very quiet for sleeping. They were very full. Staff was pleasant. Great Lake view. Nice Alaskan decor. The one thing I noticed was a towel and pillow case were neat but not clean- hopefully a fluke. We arrived late so I didn’t say anything. They have a microwave -one on second floor but they really need to clean the area or place microwave on a cabinet. It reminded me of a dorm. The exercise area needs some work."

"Ok for one night! The hotel is a little aged . I was staying one night to catch my airplane flight. The floor showed that the hotel needed repairs. Especially the floor. Seems like dry rot and uneven. . Lighting could have be better. They needed a desk lamp and charging station for cell phones. Other than that the shuttle to the airport was a plus and convenient. I chose this hotel because it was close to the airport and the price was right! Thanks for a nice experience and stay."

"So sad to see the decline in this once vibrant property. We hadn’t stayed at the Anchorage Hilton downtown for many years…but chose it this trip because it’s walking distance to the AK railroad train station. Our initial room was completely unsatisfactory and quite dark, dusty and filthy windowsills. We immediately requested a move to a different room. Ultimately they did move us about an hour later…thank goodness. Our second room was better and cleaner…and since we had prepaid we didn’t relocate to a different property. Other concerns were many including an unsafe parking area down the street…coffee unavailable until after 6 am and staff insisting on cash because their system was down…ice water jugs in lobby that didn’t deliver water to your glasses…hot tub without working jets…and so much more. Every guest we met had several different problems…wanting to change rooms or have issues fixed. This hotel has cruises and conferences booked regularly and does not really cater to the rest of its guests. Unfortunately, we can not recommend this Hilton. The staff seemed exhausted and the new manager was a little helpful but definitely overwhelmed."

"The location was convenient but since you are close to the RR station you can hear the whistles at some inconvenient hours. The breakfast was ok but no variety, stayed 3 nights and it was eggs and sausage every day. Better than nothing when traveling with kids but was hoping a potato dish would get mixed in. You have to request service in the room if you are not checking out. Maybe that's normal these days but after a long day out came back and saw our note requesting additional towels was never seen as the room was untouched. Went to the lobby and the guy was very helpful. Check out was a bit rude but we got what we needed and what the overnight guy said was allowable."
