THE LAKE - Cabin on Upper Klamath Lake bay at Point Comfort
Klamath Lake is home to 452 bird species and Eagles are often seen in the trees on the property. In the summer the trout come from all over the 94,000 acre lake into the bay in front of the cabin. These wild trout are a strain of steelhead landlocked in the lake 80 years ago. They average 2-3 pounds and fish over 8 pounds are not uncommon. This is a favorite spot for fly fishermen. There are miles of canoe and kayaking trails throughout the marsh. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee and watch the fish jumping in the lake!

PROPERTY and DOCK
The dock will accommodate up to eight average sized boats and comes with a ladder if you happen to jump in. There are 2 peddle boats available for guest use. We have a supply of life jackets. The two acres of land surrounding the cabin are planted in rolling lawns, and natural plant species of the surrounding area. The gardens are beautiful in the spring when the lilac bushes and the flowering trees are in bloom. There are several large rock outcroppings to set off the gentle slope to the lake. We have horse shoes, tether ball, and a basketball hoop.

NEARBY
Rocky Point Resort is ½ mile down the road, accessible by car, a short walk, or a boat ride from our dock to theirs. They have a small store, where you can purchase a fishing license, an ice cream or fishing lures if you need some. They also have a restaurant with full bar, and boat rentals. Harriman Springs Resort is 1/2 mile away with a full bar and dining includes breakfast and lunch with some evenings for dinner, their schedule can change so please check.Lake of the Woods Resort is 8 miles north on Hwy 140, a short 10 minute drive. Lake of the Woods features a restaurant, boat rental, store and excellent swimming beaches. The Running Y Resort is 15 minutes south on Hwy 140 which features bar and restaurant, convenience store, and a wonderful 18 hole Golf course designed by Arnold Palmer, rated as one of the top 100 in the U.S. Crater Lake is a beautiful drive, just 45 minutes north. Lava Beds National Monument a hour to the south. There is a small store and gas station in Odessa. Take 140 towards Klamath Falls about 1 mile, it is on the left. They have gas, propane, and a full liquor store besides butter, eggs, bread etc. These are just a few of the many things to do in the Klamath Falls area.

Million dollar view...
The cabin is in a beautiful location with a million dollar view IF they would trim the bushes that have grown over the window. Oh how tempted I was to get some pruners! It rained off and on all for 3 of the 4 days we were there so we spent alot of time indoors. It's a shame that we couldn't enjoy the view of the lake. I'm not 100% sure that the cabin had been cleaned before we arrived. The bathroom was skipped for sure. Whiskers in the sink and used dental floss on the trash basket. I did a quick clean myself so that we could be comfortable but for the price we paid this shouldn't have been necessary. Overall the cabin is a nice option if you aren't looking for fancy. It's simple and we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the lake and surrounding nature. I'd be so happy to see the owners put in a little effort to spruce it up a bit and for the love of all that is holy, TRIM THOSE BUSHES!!! You've got a million dollar view there if you'd just do that one thing.

Water
The propert was great. The view was beautiful but no one told us about the blue algae. We are water people, love to swim but we had to travel somewhere else for that.

Lakeside getaway
2 things stand out -- the lakeside view and quiet area and the super-comfy king sized bed. Both these made the stay worthwhile.

Cabin 1
Property located in a lovely spot. The cabin is quite comfortable though a bit dark and dated. Great shower (water pressure excellent & instant hot water). Absolutely hated the polyester "microfiber" bedding; it's like trying to sleep in a plastic bag, extremely unpleasant.

Quiet and Peaceful
We stayed in cabin 1 and it was beautiful. They prvided everything you need for summer or winter and it was just a relaxing and quiet weekend. The owners were really helpful and responsive when needed. Would definitely go again next year.

Lovely cabin overlooking beautiful lake
The cabin had everything we needed. The host and hostess were delightful people and generously took us out on their boat. We were thrilled to see a bald eagle and a sandhill crane in addition to lots of beautiful scenery

Lakeside cabin
Small cabin in a great location. Cabin was clean and comfortable (cold nights required using the wood stove which worked just fine). Location is very nice with lake view and nearby activities. I would certainly stay here again.

A true gem - tranquil and just what the doctor ordered
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 2- month journey from Alaska home to Virginia. This whole area is idyllic with beautiful lakes and mountains. The historic cabin had everything we needed - super comfy bed, high speed internet, kitchen appliances/dishes, etc. Communication with the host was easy. The listing description is very accurate and informative, but do be aware the map does not point to the correct location - this is not in Klamath Falls the town, but in the Rocky Point area. We loved the Rocky Point area. We cooked most meals in, but ventured out to some of the area resorts as well. Easy driving distance to beautiful places such as Crater Lake & Lava Beds National Monument . Highly recommend this place!
