This cheerful Duck cottage is an easy 6 minute walk to our well maintained neighborhood beach. Located on a private tree lined lot, our cottage is surrounded by all things nature. It’s the perfect place to relax and watch birds or to enjoy the sunshine on one of the decks. The upper level living room is filled with natural light and large windows making it a great place for entertaining. The screened in porch is a comfortable place to enjoy your favorite evening beach beverage or coffee in the morning. The lower level features 3 bedrooms and a sitting room. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, private bathroom and access to the back deck. The 2nd bedroom features a queen size bed with access to the back deck as well. The 3rd bedroom offers a twin over full bunk bed. If the beach isn’t enough to entertain you, we have flat screen TVs located in the main living room and sitting room. We also offer free WIFI, games, bikes, corn hole, carts, dog beds/bowls, a bbq and much more! Please take care of our home and we’ll take care of you! Come see all that Duck has to offer!

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Wonderful home and vacation

Excellent stay in Outer Banks

We had a wonderful time in the Outer Banks and really enjoyed Carri's house. The booking and follow up were easy as the owner is very responsive and helpful. The house is very comfortable in a great location. It has a well stocked kitchen so cooking is a breeze. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Wanted more time!

Loved this house and the neighborhood. The uniqueness of the coastal trees surrounding the houses was my favorite part. Great house, easy walk to the beach. All the things we needed in the kitchen, rooms, etc. was right there. Host was quick to respond to a question we had after checking in.

a week of quiet

We enjoyed a week of quiet days in Duck--walking on deserted beaches, eating sea food and generally taking it easy. Very enjoyable and a well maintained and cosy house.

Our family loved staying in this house as it was well equipped with everything you would need for the beach. Property was very clean and located in an awesome secluded neighborhood and a short walk to the beach.

Best Beach Vacation Ever!

My husband and our two dogs spent a week at Carri’s lovely home! It was our best beach vacation ever! The weather was perfect, the house was perfect & the short walk to the beach was easy! The house had everything that we needed & the kitchen was well-stocked with everything I needed to cook for the week.

Wonderful quiet and secluded place close to the beach

We stayed in Aug 2023 with our family and dog. The house was exactly what we were looking for. House was well furnished, had plenty of amenities to keep us busy when we had down time. Walk to the beach was easy thanks to all of the nature trails. Everything about the vacation was great

Sanctuary with our dogs

We enjoyed this spacious beach retreat with our 2 dogs. I met up with 2 longtime friends for a week of beach relaxation and chance for us to catch up. It was a bonus to be able to bring our pets instead of having to board them. The place was clean and very spacious with more decks and outdoor space than we ever could have asked for.

A perfect relaxing weekend

A couple of childhood friends, now in our 50s, just wanted to spend some time catching up. The house was perfect, more than enough room for the two of us, near the beach while still tucked away in the trees. We were close to the beach as well as a number of nature preserves. We had a wonderful, relaxing time.

Excellent place to unwind

Property was well maintained and had all the amenities to make a stay uncomplicated. There were many extras around that we weren't expecting and didn't have to use ex- toothbrushes, dog cage...ask Carrie, i bet what you need is around somewhere. 6 minute walk to the beach is thoroughly enjoyable. Saw a doe on the nature trail! Will definitely stay again.

Awesome Thanksgiving getaway

My brother met up with my husband and me (and our dogs) at this gorgeous, spacious house for the Thanksgiving weekend. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a full Thanksgiving meal, and they even put out the holiday placemats for us. The house had enough room for us to spread out, we were minutes from the beach (took us a second to figure out the way…nature trails wee a bit confounding), and ten minutes from the Duck town center for donuts and shopping. It was a fantastic, lazy, blustery beach filled weekend with 80’s movies on tv and good wine. Carri is a terrific host.

Lovely, quiet place near the beach

Really happy with this location. In a very quiet cul de sac with trees that provided nice shade. Plenty of room in the house with nice sized bedrooms and open plan living/kitchen area. Kitchen was well stocked with necessities. Comfortable lounge area with large tv. Easy walk to the beach (once you know the shortcut) and I liked that it was near a more private beach so not as busy as nearby beaches in Kitty Hawk or Kill Devil Hills. The nearest beach access bridge was closed but easy enough to find the next one over. Only complaint is that a lot of the lights inside weren’t working either because bulbs missing or were burnt out. Also lots of cobwebs inside the house that could use some cleaning. Overall great place but slightly overpriced for what you get.

Second time staying was as good as the first

We last stayed here 2 years ago and our return trip this year was just as good. The house is clean and well stocked. The location is the best part of the house. It is super quiet and away from the over crowded areas. Very easy walk to the beach.
