"Wonderful location, clean, with a very comfortable bed. Older property with only somewhat noisy standing fans to cool - would benefit from quiet ceiling fans.
Apparently continental breakfast is complimentary in the rooms, but we weren’t offered this and there were no details about in room dining offered. There were no easy options to get extra water or snacks etc and only one small bottle of water per person per day. You can order extra from the bar, but that seemed to be an unexpected request. There is no options in the immediate area, so I’d bring snacks and soft drinks/water with you from the airport or in your luggage.
Restaurant food was lovely and the view is breathtaking! We would definitely go again, just with a little preparation."
"My name is Michelle W and I am a forever returned guest once there is room availability there. I stayed 4 nights only as I came to lay my mom to rest.. a very sad occasion. I love the community environment at Altamont Court Hotel. On Tuesday night I went to the restaurant and Ms. Claudette was the server. She saw me all bent over rubbing my stomach. She came over, inquired what was wrong. I told her that I haven't been eating properly since the passing of my mom. She immediately went into help mode, got me tea to drink and then a nice bowl of pumpkin cream soup. Before, I left the restaurant, my stomach pain stopped, I was walking uprightly and feeling much better. Thanks to the management for having Ms. Claudette as a light and an asset to your company.
The front desk staff is very hospitable. Phillip, I was so happy to see him again on Friday, which he said that he was filling in for another worker. The CEO's, are very hospitable and will speak and engage with their guests. You will see them in passing and will never know who they are because they blends in with the guests and I appreciate that level of humility.
For my cons, this trip was the only time that there were multiple conversations about the breakfast. It wasn't tasty and was late. Servers kept apologizing because the food finished and more had to be cooked. I believe because it was cooked rushed, it wasn't enjoyable as before and so many of the food was wasted..I dislike to see food wasted. Thank you"
"I recently stayed at the Terra Nova All Suite Hotel Jamaica in Kingston, and had a wonderful experience. The hotel offers a unique blend of classic elegance and modern comfort, with beautifully decorated suites that are spacious, clean, and comfortable maintained areas, however this time my AC was broken I call 3 times before getting it fixed and then 3 days after it went out again. This was disappointing but the hotel is where I’ve always stayed once in Jamaica.
The staff were professional, friendly, and attentive, making me feel welcomed from check-in to departure. The hotel’s historic charm, lush gardens, and sophisticated atmosphere create a relaxing and luxurious environment. I especially enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, which offered a variety of delicious local and international options.
The location is convenient for exploring Kingston’s attractions, and the on-site restaurants provide excellent dining experiences. While the pool area is smaller than some resort-style properties, it is well-kept and perfect for a relaxing afternoon.
Overall, Terra Nova is an excellent choice for business travelers, couples, and anyone looking for a refined hotel experience in Kingston. I would highly recommend it and look forward to staying there again."
"This property offers free breakfast with your reservation.
We were told that if we wanted lunch or dinner, we had to order the day before. But, breakfast was not ordered in advance as it is included with the room rate.
The next day we were ready for breakfast, but the lady in charge of the restaurant had pretty much nothing to offer. Only one of us got a pair of eggs and toast, and the other one got spinach sautéed and toast."
"Wonderful staff, clean & modern room, the complimentary Jamaican breakfast was great. The only negative thing is if you’re booking because the pool then don’t. The pool is literally one lane lap pool (could only accommodate one person) and it’s right in the center of the breakfast area and the lunch area. The pool was built more for decor instead functionality."
