Agriani Hotel

Agriani Hotel
3.0 star property
Xanthi
8.0 out of 10, Very good, (4 reviews)
"A great hotel with clean rooms and plenty of communal space in reception. Loads of parking. The only downside is that there is no restaurant. The free breakfast was very basic with no hot food. But the price was very good for the room. Very quiet and peaceful. The WIFI was a bit hit and miss in certain parts of the room. It is not too far from the town for restaurants and shops so having a car is necessary. Right next door to a petrol station which is handy for late night snacks."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kiknos?
The best area to stay in Kiknos is the main village, which is centrally located and offers the most convenience and access to local amenities.

The main village of Kiknos is built on a gentle hillside overlooking the Aegean Sea. Its narrow, winding streets are lined with traditional white-washed houses, small family-run tavernas, and local shops. The village square, often bustling in the evenings, is a focal point, and the small harbour is just a short walk down.

For couples looking for a romantic escape, staying within the main village is ideal. You'll have easy access to charming restaurants with sea views for evening meals, and you can enjoy leisurely strolls through the picturesque streets. Many accommodations here offer private balconies, superb for enjoying the sunrise over the sea.

Solo travellers will also find the main village a great choice. It's easy to navigate, and the concentration of cafes and shops means you're never far from a friendly face or a place to relax and people-watch.
When is the best time to go to Kiknos?
The best time to go to Kiknos depends on whether you prefer warm beach weather or cooler, quieter touring conditions.

For those looking for a classic summer holiday with plenty of sunshine and swimming, the months of July and August are ideal. During this period, the average daily temperature hovers around 28-32°C, and the sea is wonderfully warm for swimming. This is superb for families or couples who want to spend their days relaxing on the beaches, such as those near Fanari or Arogi, or enjoying watersports.

If you prefer to avoid the peak summer crowds and enjoy milder temperatures for exploring the region's historical sites and natural beauty, then late spring (May to June) or early autumn (September to October) would be more suitable. The weather is still pleasant, with average temperatures ranging from 20-26°C, making it comfortable for visiting the ancient theatre of Maroneia or hiking in the Rodopi Mountains. This period is also excellent for couples seeking a more relaxed and reflective trip.
