The Impressa is a boutique hotel in Podil, a very touristy part of Kiev. It is close to Poshtova Ploshcha metro station and the bottom of Kiev's famous funicular, which is an inexpensive way to save yourself a steep climb towards many of Kiev's other attractions. It is close to the Dnieper River and the string of parklands that line the river bank.
The hotel is well maintained and very comfortable. Rooms are reasonably spacious and the beds comfortable. (I had 2 bookings which were contiguous, but had to move rooms, so I can speak of 2 different rooms.) Just a tip though - a room at the back is much quieter than a front room, which faces the street. On weekends in particular, this area is very busy until well into the night. There are many restaurants in the street. Having said that, with windows closed, the noise did not bother me.
Reception staff speak English and all staff that I had contact with were very friendly and gave excellent service.
There is no restaurant in the hotel, so breakfast has to be ordered the night before and is delivered to the room. There is a good choice of food and drink and I found all breakfasts that I had to be filling and delicious. Hot meals did arrive hot. I can recommend the Ukrainian pancakes with warm jam and sour cream.Delicious!!
I enjoyed my time staying at the Impressa and will stay there again if I return to Kiev. It's a really nice small hotel.
