"Reception staff lovely and helpful, room was spacious and clean. Lovely selection of teas / coffees biscuits in the room. However, the staff in the restaurant!!! How rude!!! The one woman who seemed to be the main woman on the night was so rude, her attitude towards us all was disgusting, and she got the order wrong after us going through it with her and her having a print out of it as we had to pre book "

"We had an ok stay. The hotel really could do with an upgrade, the rooms are tired looking. The breakfast was ok, although the chef doesn’t know how to cook bacon, it was inedible and almost raw. The staff we came into contact with were all friendly. The location of the hotel is in a nice spot with some rooms overlooking the sea. I’ve been to this hotel a couple of times now, I’m unlikely to return for a third time. It really is better to pay more for better accommodation. "

"The Rose and Crown is a little inn just above Porthcawl. It’s old, and charming, and the rooms are in need of a little bit of updating—-new carpet would go a long way! But the beds were very comfortable, it met our needs, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We had a light dinner there, and it was delicious."
