Booked the motel when the UTA trail run was still happening and it was literally the only room in/near Katoomba available. Decided to still spend the weekend after the event was cancelled. The Motel is pretty dire. Ultimately you get what you pay for at $85 a night. It’s situated right between the train line and highway so is super noisy. No staff on site so check in is automated - which is fine except it reeks of a place that can be rented by the hour. And it also actually reeks...damp smell, poorly maintained, poorly secured (the windows can easily be opened from outside and broken into). Basically it’s super cheap for a reason. If you book and stay, just accept it for that (as we did) and laugh about it all. Probably not the spot for your next family weekend at the blue mountains!!

I have stayed here many times and it’s great value for money. This stay I had a really great room, including a desk which overlooked greenery so I was able to work from the room. Extremely clean and comfy bed, everything you need is provided. The staff are lovely and always helpful. The only thing was that the bathroom floor filled with water after every shower.

Good little motel
Good little motel. The condition and cleanliness is what you would expect for the price. Warm and comfy though and a good place to stay for the night when you are spending the day out. Check in is easy as it’s all done by machine.

The aircon was so noisy, however it still wasn't noisy enough to block out the motor way and train line right next to the hotel. The bed is extremely uncomfortable. I didn't sleep a wink the whole night. Not even the price can justify this place.

G'day Motel
Basic motel room, very clean and tidy, very comfy beds, weird bathroom set-up in our room though ( not sure if motel wide ). Toilet and bath in bathroom, sink in separate room around corner with microwave ?. Driveway is just off the highway, very easy to miss, and dangerous if cars directly behind you and you have to brake suddenly.

It's a little noisy by the highway-but otherwise a great central location-and closer to Leura than i realised. Very good crockery and cutlery and facilities in the room too-and friendly staff.

I stayed here for one night. The room was pretty basic but that’s reflected in the price so you can’t really complain about that. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked fine. I liked that they had a microwave and a small supply of plates and cutlery. The thing I didn’t like was the noise. The motel is wedged between the highway and the railway line, and the trucks rattling past are very loud. I needed the aircon overnight as it was a bit cold, and that was really noisy too. I’m glad I didn’t need to stay a second night.

there was`nt any thing to like.The Accomodation is in a very noisy location. Very badly maintained. Bed linnen was clean, bed was very uncomfortable.Bathroom was grubby, door did`nt close properly.No facility to wash dishes.

The room was a welcoming warm after being in the cold. The room was very small & the shower was extremely small but shower was flow was hot & great the cupboard was 2 hooks behind the entry door. However the bed was comfy & ideal for one night stopover.

The road and rail line noise was terrible. I had to leave the noisy air conditioner on for a constant noise to get some sleep. Terrible broken sleep. Door latch was faulty and unsafe. Bathroom was mouldy, small and no fan. Damage to walls and furniture throughout room. No wardrobe. No tissues. Dirty carpet. Room was freezing on arrival. Are electric blankets safe in a motel room? Not value for money - even with the Expedia discount. Won’t stay here again and motel has a terrible reputation as being a ‘junkie halfway house’. Found this out after staying there. Man who checked me in was very pleasant.

Horrible place, located between freeway and train station made the noise unbearable. Heater not working with forecast below 0 at night, we spent 10 minutes there to book another hotel and left. Dirty dingy and rooms are tiny. Nothing like the advert, very disappointing, this place is best avoided. Money and time wasted.

Guests drinking alcohol and smoking outside my allocated room. Spoke with staff and they said could not do anything. Others guests vomited next to my vehicle as I was leaving to look for another place to stay the night. Disgusting.

Clean and tidy room BUT the noise of the aircon was awful all night ,combined with the traffic on the Great Western Highway and it was atrocious! Needed the Aircon on to stay warm as it was a freezing cold night but jeez it was loud!

Entrance is hard to get in if you miss it you need to get back on the highway and it’s very busy and dangerous. To exit is also very dangerous with cars and trucks flying pass. The back is the railway line you’re between a busy highway and a train line. The bed took up the whole room you had to go over the bed to get to the fridge and tv. Very very small room. Bathroom had mould building up on the ceiling and window. No exhaust fan in the toilet. Shower cubicle from the 70’s needs urgent upgrade. Coffee was terrible please replace it ! 24 hour check in was handy but impersonal having no human interaction makes it impossible to judge customer service as it’s non existent. Ok to stay one night to rest and freshen up that’s if the traffic and trains are not an issue for you if you’re a light sleeper i sugggest you find one further in town.

Great stay :)
Great stay at the G'day motel. Very easy and quick check in. Simple and clean room but had everything you need and more. 10 minute walk into town - plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. Short drive to the heart of the blue mountains. Very good price, would definitely recommend.

Bathrooms were old and not clean, the road noise (highway and in front of traffic lights) comes straight into the room through the vent in the air-con, so you can’t block it. Exterior of motel was clean, bed was clean, bathrooms were old tiles, that weren’t cleaned well. The shelf was loose and wouldn’t hold stuff on it. The paint was painted 20 layers and had red dust build up on it. The doors were rotted with moisture as no vents in bathroom and the shower leaked onto the floor a lot... no extra towels or clothes to clean up.

Lovely and clean but take ear plugs
The room, service and price were all great. Sadly the motel is directly between the highway and the railway...so fine if you have earplugs! Great if you want a cheap but clean stay. It’s 10-15mins walk into Katoomba town centre.
