"Came in the off season, and it was a complete bait and switch. Actual hotel was closed (including pool and restaurant (so no breakfast)). Placed us next door in tiny apartments. Manager gave us the key and left the property. First room had a broken toilet seat so moved us to another one. Staff spoke no English and didn’t understand that we need password for WiFi. Blanket on bed was wet. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but left the next morning."

"Very clean, bathroom was spotless. A few days before arriving, my flight changed to a later departure, so I knew I wouldn’t arrive until after 10pm. The staff responded to my message promptly and was very kind to leave a key and note for me to get in. No problems driving to the place at night. The room was simple, clean and comfortable except for the bed which was very hard. I went out early to explore and planned to have breakfast when I came back around 9am, but when I returned to the property there was no staff or breakfast to be found."

"As soon as we got settled in, we started planning for our next trip to stay here. The property is beautiful. Set in the mountains and surrounded by trees, decorated in traditional Greek style, and the garden is like a little paradise. The house is enormous, with plenty of room to spread out and make yourself at home. Only 7 minute drive away to delicious tavernas, but the kitchen is well equipped so it's no problem to make food at home. There is a washing machine and dishwasher that worked perfectly, and the AC in the bedrooms was good as well. The pool was super clean and a real highlight, and the view from the garden overlooks the countryside and down to the sea. Every night we sat on the balcony and watched the sunset and the swallows swoop over us. Vangelis the host is a true gentleman. Communication was excellent, and he had fruit for us in the fridge on arrival. Halfway through our trip he brought us a box of ice creams from a local bakery to enjoy by the pool. He is a lovely man, very helpful and said he was only a short drive away, but we still had privacy to enjoy the house. We had a spectacular stay and our only regret is that we didn't stay for longer. Thank you Vangelis for your hospitality!"

"Wir hatten nach unserer Ankunft am Flughafen Kontakt mit Marcin aufgenommen (er ist sowas wie ein Hauswart) und als Treffpunkt die Apotheke in Kamilari ausgemacht. Von dort aus hat er uns zum Haus geleitet. Die Straße nach oben ist eine steile Schotterpiste und nur für geübte Autofahrer geeignet. Das Appartement liegt im Haus der Besitzer, die oben im Haus wohnen (waren während unseres Aufenthalts allerdings nicht da). Es ist ein kleines aber gut ausgestattetes Appartement. In der Küche war alles vorhanden außer einer Bratpfanne, die uns Marcin auf Nachfrage am nächsten Tag gleich brachte. Im Bad gibt es keine Lüftungsmöglichkeit. Man muss dann die Glastür öffnen und über das Schlafzimmer Luft hereinlassen. Der Kleiderschrank bietet ausreichend Platz. Handtücher/Duschtücher waren die in großer Menge vorhanden. Es ist empfehlenswert alles gegen Mücken mitzunehmen. Wir hatten einen Mückenstecker für drinnen, Mückenspiralen und Citronella-Kerzen für draußen. Die Aussicht von dort oben ist ein Traum. Man blickt auf das Dorf, die Olivenbäume und sogar auf das Meer. Man muss sich aber bewusst sein, dass man in Hanglage wohnt und sollte gut zu Fuß sein. Das Dorf mit zahlreichen sehr guten Tavernen erreicht man in 10-15 Minuten. Der Pool bietet angenehme Abkühlung. Er wird von Marcin am frühen Morgen gereinigt, wenn alle noch schlafen. Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt und können dieses Appartement weiterempfehlen. Ausflugsempfehlungen: Matala, Rouvas-Schlucht, Phaistos"

"Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. However, there were some things that I think could be improved. Mainly, the bed was really uncomfortable, although beautiful and clean linen. Myself and my partner barely slept the whole time, it was like a slab of concrete. We had a a terrace with our apartment which was gorgeous and had amazing views of the surrounding landscape. If I were to be picky, it would be nice to have more comfortable seating up there. Air con works and was great. You do need a car if you intend to leave the village, the location for us was 10/10. Beautiful views and easy to get to other locations as long as you hire a car. We didn’t try to get any taxis so not sure how easy it would be to book. The amenities in the village were great, a shop within 100 yards and the restaurant is traditional with fantastic staff. Very reasonably priced, and they bent over backwards to look after us. The apartment itself is lovely, although basic. You cannot really cook there, although there is a kitchen, as there were literally no utensils. There is no kettle either. Be careful of hidden costs, the host text me halfway through the stay to advise we had to pay a €5 per day charge for a climate change resilience fee, this wasn’t in any of the information we had received before or during the stay - and we stayed in a different hotel on our last night and we were not asked to pay this. As I said, overall despite some flaws, we really loved the stay and would stay again."

"We stayed for one night. Our host Haroula was amazing! Our room was simple, nothing extravagant, but we did not seek the modern and slick. The garden has many many blooming cacti, and you know how rare those are, the room was spotless, wifi was better than hotels we stayed at in Crete, and we lacked for nothing. But honestly, pick this place so you can meet its host! She welcomed us w coffee, her advice could not have been better and she is honest to goodness delightful !"
