Overall, this rental was in a great location—perfect if you need easy access to KU Med. The kitchen was very usable and the washer/dryer was a useful amenity.However, during our week-long visit, a storm caused a tree to fall and destroy part of the fence, making the yard no longer secure for my dog. I notified the hosts right away, and someone came to take photos the next day, but repairs were not made during our stay. Communication about updates was limited unless I requested them, and there were no interim efforts to make the yard safer. My dog was able to access the neighbor’s yard multiple times because of the broken fence, which was stressful and unsafe.Additionally, the bathtub drain was clogged from the start. The hosts did respond to this maintenance issue, but I returned one day to notice someone had been inside without seeing communication that they’d alerted maintenance, which felt uncomfortable as a female. I loved the outdoor space and spent a lot of time out there. I appreciated the conveniences of the property overall, but travelers with pets (or anyone who values privacy and timely communication) may want to consider these points before booking.
