Great Stay
"Fantastic stay. very nice beach.....swim, snorkel right from hotel. The good: Location - I would rather stay at Vakaloa (30+ minutes from Nuku'alofa than the other way around. Beachfront - Sloped beach.... and coral, but sandy (crushed coral).... can walk barefoot Kayak - They were free to borrow ..."

"We loved our stay here. We loved the simple Tongan style accommodation. There are only 3 fales set in beautiful tropical gardens where guests are allowed to pick their own pawpaw and coconuts. You can't drink the tap water, so remember to buy lots of water from the convenience stores in the area. The water is pretty cheap and the store owners are pretty friendly and helpful. Some don't speak English so communication can be interesting.

Nice beach good swimming, hire a car to get around ,cheapest way. Worth going to the far outer islands as part of trip. Bring lots of snacks and booze very expensive. TV dull, worth bringing own digital movies and music. People very friendly.
