We stayed at Liku'alofa for 3 weeks for our honeymoon in December. It was wonderful! The staff were brilliant, the food was excellent, and the fale was spacious with a very comfy bed. There were a few negatives though - the fale only had cold water, the power went out a couple of times (twice over the course of 3 weeks - not too bad) for a few hours at a time, and the kettle (jug) had some sort of calcium build up at the bottom that would flake off into the water whenever we made a cup of tea. These things were annoying, but we didn't consider them to be overly negative. The fale had air-conditioning though which was wonderful! We would definitely go back, but maybe not for as long a time - we basically did everything we could in Tongatapu in a week and then spent a lot of time swimming for the rest of our time there. Oh and the swimming pool is out of order but you can swim in the ocean right next to it - the beach is a bit rough (full of coral) but the water is divine.
