"The property is in the lap of nature surrounded by fruiting plants and peacocks. It's an excellent getaway from the hustle of fast-paced city life. The best part was the host who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. As we arrived, he plucked fresh passion fruits from his garden and made juice for us. Our hosts were very helpful, arranging transportation to the World Heritage Sites and a local dance presentation. Hosts will prepare breakfasts and dinners. The dinners we ate there were excellent. "Danu's homestay is the real experience. 5 star service with many smiles. If your looking for an authentic Sri Lankan homestay experience, this is it. Sigiriya is a beautiful little town and Lion Rock is a must do. Get up early to beat the crowds and heat. It opens at 7am. We hired a scooter but Charu the father will drive you if needed. The family are absolutely loving,kind and generous. Make sure you have dinner with them. One of the best meals I've had in Sri Lanka. Now for the suprise...

"This property is in the middle of nowhere so there it comes the magic. I can’t complain about slow and poor wifi or power issues since this isn’t a hotel but a home stay. The family hosting is among the best people you could ever meet, very attentive with guests and providing an excellent service and serving a tasty land grown food. "Truly a once in a lifetime experience staying in this hotel. It is built around the rock face overlooking a lake and you really do feel entirely immersed in the nature. We had monkeys on our balcony as well as in the open corridors on the way to breakfast, we even saw a wild elephant on the island opposite from the lobby, it was incredible! There are also three pools to choose from, my favourite was the infinity one overlooking the lake which was the best view I have ever swam with. The location is great too as a base for the cultural triangle. We did lions rock and an elephant safari one day, on which we saw over 200 wild elephants. The next day we also did the Dambulla cave temple so you can do so much around this location. Wish we could have stayed for longer than the two nights we did to enjoy the hotel itself more as well as all the sites to see in the area. The room was comfortable and clean and the staff were always so helpful and welcoming. The food was amazing with so many choices for breakfast and in the buffet restaurant in the evening."
