Beautiful modern hotel right on the Weinstrasse (wine route). Interesting little town with many places for wine tasting. Some of the local wines are available to buy in the hotel. Helpful staff and fantastic quality and choice at breakfast. Lovely garden to sit in with fountain.
Restaurant looked good but not very adventurous. For a similar price we ate at the Deidesheimer Hof, sitting in the square. Amazing food, (ask about the specialities of the day and if you think potato soup sounds boring, you'd be wrong!)
There was a feature window between the bedroom and bathroom, filled with sand and pieces of 'driftwood' etc to look like a beach (hard to describe but very pretty). However, if you sleep with a light sleeper, this means that you cannot creep into the bathroom in the night without waking them up with the light, as it is right over the bed. Triumph of style over practicality we thought!
