I have never given below a 5 star for home share. But I had received check out info but not check in. Day of, I called the number of the owner. Didn’t answer, he calls me back. The person texting me in Vrbo’s messaging the code is not the same name listed. Guy calls me and says didn’t know I booked and to cancel. At this point I had no check in instructions. Said to book on another site, to call Vrbo and try to get my money back. That he had people cancel on him and he can’t even log in to his Vrbo account. I get check in instructions after I call Vrbo asking if I can cancel because he doesn’t want me there. No cancellation. The staff when I called asked for proof. I said I had none except a screenshot of how long we talked. I wonder if this might have been why the other people may have canceled? I get the code through Vrbo messaging. I am able to get in and spend the night. But I feel on pins and needles my whole stay. The neighbors stared at me. I loved the time there seeing the comedy museum but I felt so incredibly anxious that day. I had saved for awhile to pay it off and I couldn’t afford what it would cost to rebook. So I am glad it worked. This host could be great on another site but not on this one.
