This stunning new house is perched on a ridge 35 feet above the Caribbean with spectacular ocean and sunset views. The large veranda, overlooking the sea, is furnished for lounging and dining. Inside the Beach Lodge is a spacious great room with sweeping ocean views from every room. It features a living area with sofas and a flat screen TV. The ocean view caterer's kitchen features two refrigerators and two ranges. The dining area, which also enjoys ocean views, can be set up with one dining room table or two for larger groups.
The Beach Lodge features one bedroom with a king bed and a sweeping ocean view. The lodge also has two sleeping lofts, both with walls of glass. Headroom in the lofts is limited, with a height of just 5' 11” at the apex and steeply sloping ceilings. The lofts are accessed by steep spiral stairs not safe for young children or guests with mobility issues. The lofts are best suited for older children, teens, and college kids. Each loft is furnished with a full-sized futon.
Buttonwood Reserve has access to two beaches. On the Atlantic side is a world-class, 3-mile-long pink-sand beach, pristine without a single house. It is accessed via our private, golf-carts only driveway. All condominiums at Buttonwood come with access to a fleet of golf carts at no charge. On the Caribbean side of our property, almost in your front yard, is a second beach. This beach is small and rather rocky, so not so aesthetic, but the water is as calm as a lake and this shore is perfect for snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing.
Our resort-style shared pool is just 50 yards from the house. This beautiful landscaped pool is heated for comfortable swimming year round.
Buttonwood Reserve comes with kayaks and a paddle board for use on the sea or in our pond. Bicycles are also provided for riding around the property or to town, less than a mile away.
We just completed a new pickleball court!
Our mini-gym is equipped with a multifunction smith machine cage with precision linear bearings, an Olympic weight rack, dip station, and a cable routed pulley system. Guests also have access to dumbbells and a fitness/yoga mat. This is an open-air gym (fully roofed and with three walls).
Other amenities include AC throughout, ceiling fans, satellite TV, washer dryer, and superfast Starlink WIFI. To ensure uninterrupted power, Buttonwood has a full solar array, back-up batteries to power the entire property, and a connection to the grid in case we ever need it.
Buttonwood Reserve is an easy 15-minute drive from Governor's Harbour, the main town on the island. Governor's Harbour has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor.
Just a mile from Buttonwood Reserve is the village of James Cistern, which has two grocery stores, a town dock where the fisherman bring their catch every day, a produce stand, and three small local restaurants, Kel-D's, Lee's Café, and the new Leorose Sunset Beach Bar and Grill. James Cistern is also the home of Stubb's famous barbecue, now called Tamarind Tree Grill, every Friday and Saturday, which is not to be missed.
Other restaurants in the area include Pascal's at boutique luxury resort Sky Beach Club, Tippy's (international and fusion), 1648 Bar & Grille at French Leave (fine dining for lunch and dinner), The Rainbow Inn (steaks and Monday night brick oven pizza night) and Da Perk Café (café and sandwich shop).
Eleuthera is most famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is safe and friendly. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. You can rent power boats, sailboats, sea kayaks and bikes. There is excellent sightseeing, as well.

The Lodge was a perfect place to relax with a private deck on the back of the house with a view west over the water. The place had everything you need to enjoy a peaceful vacation. The pickleball court was fun, the pool was warm and a great place to hang out but the best part was the short trip to the eastern coast via golf cart ride on private road where you will find a white sand incredible beach that had no one on it for miles. It was about ten minute drive into Governors Harbor which had a variety of restaurants, grocery stores, and shops.
We loved staying at Buttonwood main lodge. The view on the back deck was spectacular! The kitchen was very well equipped. There was plenty of air conditioning. The Wifi worked well. The furniture and bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very big with lots of hooks. Now, when can I go back? The golf cart trip to the Atlantic was wild. It was roughter over there than the caribbean side. The caribbean beach was a bit rocky so we went to more sandy beaches.

We brought a team of youth and adults down to the island to do some mission work. The accommodations were great for our large group - the main lodge provided enough room for our large group time and meals. Matt, Brett, and the entire team were super responsive. We would definitely stay here again!

There were 7 families that rented Buttonwood for our Spring Break 2024. We had a total of 34 people ranging from the ages of 4 years old up to 50 years old and EVERYONE had the most wonderful time! It is such a special place with such special staff. The condos are clean and have everything you need, the main house is beautiful and a perfect place to have evening meals (Chef Brenda is wonderful and I highly recommend her for hire!). The pool and pickleball court are spectacular, I can't speak highly enough about this property and definitely recommend this spot for a large group.
