We loved the hotel location: right on the beach, not far from restaurants/bars, great sunset, good pina coladas made by Alejandro, attentive staff. Shower water pressure was great!

A new favorite in Playa Hermosa!

This was a great hotel for a short getaway- we live in San Jose and wanted an escape to the beach. We parked our car Saturday morning and never left until Sunday afternoon. Great food at the restaurant, relaxing pool with lots of loungers, attentive service, and sunset at the beach. The perfect weekend!

The property andthe room were very clean. This hotel is obviously very family friendly but the noise level from 8 AM until 11 PM is quite substantial especially with a pool front room. The dining room area was not super clean and the food was average. But decent. The location is excellent across from the beach, but the locals love to gather across the road for beach access so it’s definitely not very private. The staff was wonderful and I would recommend this equivalent to a two star in the United States.

Our stay was very relaxing! The staff was super friendly. As two young women traveling alone, we were a little wary but we felt safe at every point. The rooms were nice with a decent view. Only thing missing was a mini fridge to be able to store leftovers in. Great location. A little more secluded but not too secluded that you’re far from everything.

Hotel and rooms are very dated and need remodeling and numerous repairs. Pictures do not reflect the actual room received. Room is in much worse condition. Disappointed, but was only a weekend trip. Not priced according to quality and condition. Will not be returning.

I came to have a relaxing weekend to myself to work on some projects and it was perfect. I loved looking at the beach while getting some work done. So much nature. The breakfast was good, I liked the tico breakfast best. I came early and still received my room before the listed time. The hot tub in the room was nice. The only thing was the shower was not always hot. Sometimes I had to wait an hour or two for hot water. Enjoyed this place and would come back

We really enjoyed the easy access to the beach and more secluded, so we didn’t have to deal with a large crowd. The downside is transportation is not readily available. We had to wait 30-60 minutes for an Uber, so will need to plan ahead.

We paid for a room with jacuzzi and couldn’t use it there was no hot water even to take a shower. Maintenance guy didn’t know how to do his job he was a teenager. I don’t recommend if you can’t even take a hot shower for the money you are paying . We also tried calling to report problem they didn’t pick up the phone and no one was at the reception.

Nice economy hotel

The location of the hotel was great. It within few steps to the beach. The rooms were spacious enough but the bathroom was very small. The bathroom door was such that it was difficult to move around. The breakfast was fine, basically same menu daily. One of the things that bothered me the most is the condition of coffee cups and plastic water/juice cups. They were never properly cleaned. The cups smelled like they were just rinsed not really cleaned with soap. We had rented a car so moving around the town and hotel was not an issue. But, if you don't have a car, it may get annoying calling an Uber or taxi. The hotel is very far from the main town. Overall, our stay was fine, comfortable except for few little things.

We stayed here as a young family with 5 kids ages 3-13. When we booked this hotel I couldn't really find any reviews that described the beach/ocean since it's a l beachfront hotel so I'm hoping I will help paint a picture. The beach sits right across the non busy street-very close walk. The sand is dark and incredibly soft and goes on forever. There are some chairs and tables (not many maybe 6 chairs) under some shade to sit on. There are signs that say no swimming at this beach because of the rip tides. We swam as anyways but kept a close eye on our kids. We reached boogie boards for the 5 days we stayed at "the surfer factory" in Jaco. We boogie boarded and swam across from the hotel a couple times and enjoyed it but felt safer doing these things at Jaco Beach which isn't far. The waves there are perfect for boogie boarding and the water is so warm to swim in. There are no seashells at Hermosa Beach (the beach in front of the hotel) or Jaco and there is no snorkeling. Boogie boarding and surfing is what it's all about. Oh, and there are tons of Halloween Crabs at Hermosa Beach which was really cool. As for the hotel itself, the rooms were cleaned very well daily, the pool was nice, the breakfast that was included was a sit down hot breakfast and although there weren't many options, it filled us up and was satisfying. We saw many red macaw's in the area including two right out our balcony the first day.
