Jacksonville Mountain Retreat

Contact us this winter to rent the upstairs only for a reduced price.

The name speaks for this property. An immaculate well appointed 5 bdr 3.5 bath vacation home with gorgeous in-ground pool and mountaintop views!! Room for the family to enjoy each others company yet space for everyone to spread out. Additional sleeping on two sets of bunkbeds, one bedroom with queen bed and full bath all downstairs. Perfect for the kids as there is a foosball table and sitting area with television. Sleeping for 14 total in beds. Upstairs you find a large living are with plenty of seating to relax and see more breathtaking views of surrounding mountain tops and trees, maybe some wildlife as well. Next is the very complete kitchen with several seating arrangements depending on your group. Double ovens, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, lots of counter space and more beautiful views. Laundry and garage are off the kitchen. Four other bedrooms upstairs all queen beds with the exception of the master bed which is a king. The master bedroom has amazing views along with gas fireplace that you can see from the bedroom and the large soaking tub in the master bath also with views. Up on the mountain top there's no one looking back you have great privacy. In summer months relax by the pool and rejuvenate. Property is 10 minutes at the most to Jacksonville. You can see a Britt concert, eat at one of our tasty restaurants or shop some unique Jacksonville shops. Ashland is about 20 minutes from Jacksonville, home of the Shakespeare Festival. there are plenty of great restaurants and shops there as well. If you are a wine taster there are many tasting rooms and vineyards within 10-15 minutes from the property. Come stay in style and comfort to visit our area.

This is a very private property with views and wildlife, one other neighbor on the driveway.There is an in-ground pool and hottub for your enjoyment and relaxation.

Definitely need a car.
Must be at least 25 years of age to book.
Please be mindful of water usage. We have water hauled in for the pool and holding tank to supplement the well. Do not leave hoses or other water running.
If you move the trash cans for parking, make sure they are back on the main driveway Wednesday night as trash pickup is early Thursday morning. If they are unable to pick for next guests you'll be charged $75 for the additional Pickup.

The Perfect Summer Family Vacation

The kids all voted that this was their favorite vacation house ever. Having the downstairs game, sleeping and tv room to themselves, made them feel independent from the adults. Using the swimming pool all day every day was an added plus. It truly was the perfect summer family vacation house. We will most likely stay there again in the future.

Beautiful home

Our family had a wonderful Thanksgiving in this home. There was plenty of space for kids and adults to enjoy each others company or find some quiet as needed. Views out every window are outstanding. The kitchen is well equipped and organized. We all like to cook so this was a big plus. The location is slightly rural and private which we love but it’s also very easy to go into Jacksonville, Ashland, or Medford. We loved our stay and thank Deanna and the owners for sharing this beautiful home.

Not Handicap Accessible

Not handicap accessible. Needed to borrow a ramp to get over a step to get up to the house. Bathrooms were not Ada. Made the one bathroom work, but wasn’t easy. Can only stay on the one floor. At least it was the main floor. Otherwise the house was great.

Let it snow

We arrived at the property during a significant snow storm. Members of our family drove in from the San Francisco Bay area as well as Portland. We found the driveway all but impassible for our AWD cars with chains. The driveway was very steep, about 1/2 mile long, twisted and snow covered. I ended up stuck in the ditch. Once we did make it to the property, we felt unsafe leaving for two days. The home did not have a shovel and the host told us she would bring us one, but that did not happen. If it wasn't for a neighbor we would not have made it. I took us a couple of day to get the hot tub warm enough to use. The house was clean, spacious and a nice place to be while being snowed in. We had good TV and WiFi. We would love to return when weather is not such an issue. It would have been helpful to have known about the driveway challenge and told not to come until the driveway was safe.

Great private get away!

It’s like you have a hillside to yourself! There is one other house further up this gated property but we never saw them. So close to town and a quick drive to Medford for any needed items or tourism but totally away from everything. The house is spacious and clean, the pool and hot tub fabulous. It easily hosted my friend and I quick last minute vacation and our kids. We knew when we Before we booked it the AC was not working and may not be repaired during our trip (it wasn’t) And unfortunately we had it the hottest week so far this summer and the house didn’t cool down at night so comfortable sleep was pretty lacking. That’s the only reason for not five stars- thank goodness for the pool! The water supply people and the pool cleaning people were a surprise when they showed up but at least very professional . I would stay here again due to privacy, views and ease to everything as I would assume the AC would be fixed. We took a two hour drive and saw the Redwoods to escape the heat. Crater Lake is a two hour drive so lots of easy day trips from here as well. Some newer pans for cooking could be nice but we had everything we needed to make up our meals and plenty of towels for using for the pool, as well as plastic wear to use safely outside was a nice touch.

We love this place. In fact, this is our second time to stay here! Our only problem this time was the previous tenant ran the water tank out of water and we had to wait about 45 minutes for this to get resolved. But even so, we would definitely stay here again! It's the perfect get-away for our family with an awesome pool and hot tub. It's also a very welcoming house, big and spacious. We love it! It's out favorite place to stay so far!

Great reunion

We loved our stay at the property! The house and pool and hot tub were all wonderful! Easy access to many activities and restaurants. The driveway is a steep hill and the property lacks a yard for kids to play in, but everything else made up for that.

Perfect Getaway

We were so happy to find this house to fit our moderately large group. The rooms looked exactly like the pictures and the outdoor space was beautiful. We didn’t use the pool since it was still a bit chilly out, but the hot tub was a perfect activity for the last evening. All the TV’s had streaming apps on them and there were countless games in the basement for us to play at night. The check-out list was clear and concise and even though they asked us to be conscious about water usage due to the house being on a water tank we never had any issues. We hope to have future trips here!

Great House! Perfect for Large Groups

The house was very welcoming with all of the amenities needed for a home away from home feel. The hot tub was amazing and the beds were comfortable. There was a lot pf space to mingle as a group and also have some quiet time. We will definitely stay here again.

Deferred Maintenance a real problem

We had 10 adults and two children. The layou of the house was perfect. However one issue after another kept surfacing. The supplies of towels, toilet paper, paper towels were at the minimum. It was awful. Light bulbs were burnt out. Shower had water backing up so many had to line up the one shower on the first floor. The hot tub did not work.some knobs were broken and the jets did not work regularly. The freezer and ice/water feature on the refrigerator did not work. It is a beautiful house but deferred maintenance is a significant issue.

Nice House when you can find it

We lost one night due to incorrect Driving directions, The directions provide by VRBO took us to the wrong house. It wasn't resolved until the next day. Once we got into the right house, we had a good time.

Private Hilltop Escape

Beautiful home, close to Jacksonville on a private hilltop. Kitchen fully equipped (except for basic disposables-wrap/foil/ziplocks- so bring your own). 2 coffee pots (Keurig & standard drip). Amazing induction cooktop, double oven. Hot tub was perfect, big game room downstairs. Master suite is beautiful. Great house for a big group!
