Church Street Apartment

Stayed here for a month for an audition rotation at IF Health Jacksonville. I live in TX full time and needed a place to stay while working at the hospital. Place was reasonably priced and just south of where I was working so the commute was super short and convenient. Unit was great. Had almost everything I needed. Functional kitchen, good bathroom, comfortable bed was great. Place was right in downtown w close and easy highway access. Only downsides are the location has a fair amount of homeless people that wander around and can make one feel uneasy. 2nd is no free on-site parking. Had to pay to park during normal business hours on weekdays. Other than that, no complaints. Place had everything I needed as a solo traveler for a month at an affordable price in a convenient location for me. Would absolutely stay in this unit again.

Most wonderful stay

*Post-reservation experience: received all the info regarding my stay, along with what is expected of me and what to expect when I arrived almost immediately. Very professional setup from the host. Awesome. *Communication: the host was in contact with me every day of my stay making sure I had what I needed and that there were no issues. I received a response almost immediately anytime I wrote. Awesome. *Location: it couldnt be in a better location for getting anywhere in Jax. The Matthews bridge, Hart bridge, Main St bridge, and Acosta Bridge were all super-easy to get to. The street it's located on is little-used, and you can always find parking anytime of day. There is some construction on Church street, but we always took Beaver to Pearl to Church. So easy. We always felt safe, and always felt safe parking our vehicle out front or on Hogan, which we could see from the room. Awesome. *Security: I absolutely loved the means in which you had to use to access any of the doors into the building, and to use the elevator. Also, there is a security guard that makes rounds around the block. Awesome. *The unit: this totally satisfied my desire to stay in one of the renovated buildings downtown. Chic and simple. Super-clean and devoid of any smell. Our pup even loved it, and never once picked up on any smell on any of the furniture. Comfortable temperature all the time. Quiet. The bed was perfectly comfortable. Can't wait to stay again!

Not as promised

The building is nice, but in a very bad part of town. Homeless people sleeping by our car every night or hanging out at the bench by the front door. Description said that is was a short walk to the stadium...it was 2 miles and through the bad part of town. We will NEVER stay there again

Disappointing Stay Despite Great Location

Our stay at this Vrbo property was marred by several significant issues. Over the weekend, the fire alarm in the lobby ran incessantly and didn't shut off until Monday. This constant noise was incredibly disruptive and made it difficult to relax. During the week, the fire alarm went off at 1:00 in the morning, forcing us to evacuate the building. While the fire department eventually arrived to turn it off, it disrupted our night and left us exhausted. Parking was another major challenge. Searching for parking late at night on the weekend proved to be a stressful ordeal. The recommended garages were locked up, leaving us to rely on street parking, which, thankfully, was available. While we appreciated the vibrant downtown vibe, these inconveniences overshadowed our experience. Unfortunately, I would not choose to stay here again given the choice.
