Audrey's Abode - Restored log cabin, country setting, minutes from Jacksonville
Audrey’s Abode is just the place you have been looking for to relax and reconnect with family, friends, nature and a simpler time. Located on a 7 acre hobby farm just south of Jacksonville, Illinois (30 minutes west of Springfield), Audrey’s Abode is a fully restored historic log cabin with all the modern amenities for a comfortable getaway. Need additional space? Check out our other listing next door - Bunkhouse Seventy-Four. Pets are welcome but we charge a $25 pet cleaning fee.
The space Our unique place is a real, historic log cabin that we relocated from near Lima, Illinois (20 minutes north of Quincy) and have fully restored on our property for guests to enjoy. Reclaimed building materials from over 10 different local barns, houses and structures were used during the restoration process and each contains a fun story about their history or how they were obtained. The result, after 8 years of labor, patience and love, is Audrey's Abode.
Guest access As our guest, you will have access to the entire cabin. This includes both bedroom spaces - a master bedroom (The Barn Room) on the main floor and a large bedroom space upstairs (The Loft). Plus, full access to our fully furnished kitchen which includes a refrigerator, dishwasher, stove with an oven, microwave, coffee maker and washer and dryer. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, cookie sheets, plates, glasses, coffee cups and more in case you decide you'd like to bring your own food and prepare a meal. Need some fresh air? The front porch is a wonderful place to sit and read a book and listen to the sounds of nearby nature.
Other things to note Our neighbors on both sides have small ponds. These are unfortunately off limits to our guest, but since they are in the area, we want to make you aware, especially guests who are traveling with children. Fences and shrubbery separate our property from our neighbors and you will probably not even know the ponds are near by.

Absolutely loved our stay! Comfortable and cozy! Felt like we were staying in the Ingalls little house, but with modern conveniences. It really was a hidden gem! Can’t recommend enough! My only feedback is that the master bed wasn’t super comfy. Great stay and great host
If you’re looking for a peaceful place to rest and recharge, look no further! We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Audrey’s Abode! The cabin had everything we needed. The property is quiet and relaxing. We woke up Sunday morning to a beautiful buck right outside the kitchen window. If I could live there, I totally would to get away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday! The town of Jacksonville has everything you want. We did a college tour with our son while we were here and found it to be a very inviting campus and small town. Our hosts were great with communication and has everything perfectly ready for us!
We stayed to go to the Warren Zeiders concert. It was a 12 minute easy drive to the fairgrounds. The cabin is awesome, the upstairs was hot, but they do have fans there.
