Decking needed pressure washing and more adaptile railings. Liked keypad entry. Stairs up to apatment were a surprise, but a good work-out. There were mites in upholstery and beds. Cooling adequate. Could have used creamer for coffee area. There was leftover water in kerig coffee maker . Could have used extra dish towels. Conflicting info on pets-were they allowed? Instucted to put towels in non exiting laundry basket. Could have used extra coffee pods. No safety concerns as far as neighborhood. Had no communication before arrival about property.
When we arrived at the location of the vrbo home, we had no information to be able to get into the house. We ended up having to sleep in our truck The night the host offered a 75, which I never did receive and then the stove didn't work. There was rusted water coming out of the faucets in the house. There was no heat except a little space Heater, in every room which at 32, the space heaters, was doing all I could do to keep warm. We actually left early and came home. The fans didn't work. The TV remote control didn't work. Nothing in the house worked. I would advise do not rent or get this home. It's not even a house. They advertised Alexander house number three, we was figuring it was a house. It's actually Absolutely part of a house that people actually live there. I do not recommend this to anyone. We was not even able to enjoy our stay there. We left and came home early. It was money wasted. I will never rent this place again. And I would advise no one else too either.
Nice stay - historic feel - only a couple small issues
This was a lovely little apartment! There are some real pros and a not many cons. We need to be in the area 2x a year for a 4-5 days - will likely book again if the cons could be addressed.
Pros:
1) close to his coach's dojo for ATA Taekwondo Training.
2) LOVE the historic feel of the house
3) plenty of room for the 2 of us, cozy, and it felt private. We really liked it.
Cons:
1) Had no idea it was a second floor apt. had to climb all those stairs with heavy luggage and worse, my child was on crutches and could not walk the first 2 days. He was injured the day before our flight and he struggled to get up and down the stairs. The listing should clearly state there is a large flight of stairs that your guests must climb. I would've also packed very differently!
2) no TV's in the bedrooms - I need the TV to sleep unfortunately.
3) the bed in the first bedroom is terribly uncomfortable and the center just droops so you roll to the middle of the bed. It was also the only bedroom with access to a 3-prong plug for my laptop in order to watch tv (see con #2). by the 3rd night, we had to move to the other bedroom because my son and I just kept rolling into the middle of the bed and having rough night's sleep because of that and I just used my lap top until it died.
We would need a 3 prong plug in that second bedroom to use the laptop, or a bedroom tv.
4) no dishwasher but no sponge provided. That was inconvenient since I could not leave my son alone to run out.
