COVID-19 has led to significant changes to how we travel. If you're flying to Izu Islands, the following tips will help you navigate these new travelling challenges:

• Research if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before locking in your flight. Also check if there are any conditions you'll have to follow on arrival, such as taking a COVID-19 test.
• Wear a face mask during airport screening. A TSA officer will require you to adjust your mask for identification purposes.
• Rather than handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, position it directly on the scanner yourself. Once that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will need to be removed from your bag and presented for screening.
• To reduce handling during screening, put items such as your wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• If you're planning to take food through the security checkpoint, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA agent will need to handle your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.
