  • Welcome to gorges Ithaca! Our cozy, lower-level apartment in the Northeast Ithaca community offers the perfect blend of convenience and tranquility. Nestled near Sapsucker Woods and Cornell's Lab of Ornithology, it's a bird lover's paradise. Enjoy the serene natural surroundings while staying in our clean, simply designed apartment.

    Centrally located, our one-bedroom apartment provides a comfortable base for exploring Ithaca's many attractions. Relax on the queen-size memory foam mattress in the bedroom, or whip up a delicious meal in our open-concept kitchen with an island. After a day of exploring, unwind in our peaceful neighborhood.

    The space

    We are located in a quiet residential neighborhood close to Cornell's campus, Ithaca Airport, Lab of Ornithology, and shopping. We are also a quick drive to downtown Ithaca and the farmers market! There is also ample parking on the driveway. The local bus service (TACT) stop is just one block away from the house as well.

    The living room has a Smart TV equipped with Netflix and Chromecast for you to enjoy from our comfortable couch as you relax and unwind after your adventures. The house has a private entrance from the back of the house and is accessed with a smart key lock.

    As the weather warms up, you are also welcome to enjoy our spacious yard.

    We look forward to welcoming you into our home and to ensuring your visit to Ithaca is one that truly allows you to see the many great things there are to do in the area.

    Guest access
    During your stay, you are welcome to utilize all of the spaces and amenities of the apartment. The entry to the apartment is via the laundry room that guests have access to.

    If there is something you're unsure how to use, let us know and we will be happy to assist.

    Sleeping Arrangements:
    Queen Mattress - 2 individuals
    Queen Pull Out Sofa - 2 individuals (only will be set when there are more than 2 individuals noted on the reservation)
    Futon Count - 1 individual (only will be set when there are 5 individuals noted on the reservation)

    If you are traveling with just 2 individuals and would like us to set the sofa bed for a separate sleeping arrangement, please let us know. There is a $20 additional fee for setup.

A great place to stay to explore the New York Finger Lakes area

We stayed at this property during a 2 week vacation to explore the Finger Lakes area of New York. It is clean and comfortable, neat and tidy, and located in a quiet and safe residential neighborhood that's perfect for a morning jog or evening stroll after a busy day of sightseeing. Shopping is conveniently available just a few minutes away by car as is easy access to the major roads that traverse the Finger Lakes and the local attractions in Ithaca. The hosts were very responsive to communications both during the booking process and the stay, and respectful of our privacy. Overall, it's a great value as a "home base" for a short or long Finger Lakes vacation experience.

Perfect place for Ithaca visit!

We came to Ithaca for our daughter’s graduation and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sanjay and Shu’s place. It was exceptionally clean, quiet neighborhood and very comfortable! After a very long day of travel, we were welcomed with a bottle of wine, fruit and pastries from Wegmans! Communication with the hosts was excellent, even providing me with links on parking for the graduation ceremonies. If you are visiting your child at Cornell, I highly recommend staying here. It is very close to campus, easy drive to get to campus and you have a place to park your car!

Convenient Location to Everything

Stayed in this cute little apartment while visiting my son and his wife in Ithaca. Sanjay was an excellent host and very responsive to questions I had. Apartment was very well-equipped -- he thought of everything! Appreciated the bottle of wine at check-in and the peacefulness of the neighborhood. My friend flew into the Ithaca airport for the weekend and this apt was just minutes from there. So easy! Thanks for a great stay!

Clean homely apartment

The apartment was spotlessly clean with a homely feel. Very quiet peaceful neighbourhood, nice to have the use of a washing machine and dryer as we had been traveling for 2 weeks before arriving here. The bed was also very comfortable. The only improvements I would suggest are a bigger fridge, as we struggled to get everything in. It was very small. Also a consideration could be to slightly rearange the bedroom so that you can get into bed from both sides. As a couple in our 60's it's not easy to climb over the other person in the night without disturbing them to use the bathroom. Just our thoughts.

Good base for Finger Lakes

This apartment was a good base to spend a few days for us to explorie the wider Finger Lakes region. This included Watkins Glen and Robert H. Treman State Parks, Cornell Botanic Gardens, Corning Museum of Glass and a couple of winery visits. You need a car to get to shops, etc., and we would recommend the nearby Gimme Coffee in Hanshaw Road and we wish we had discovered the more distant GreenStar Food Co+op in Cascadilla St a bit earlier (the nearby TOPS supermarket wasn't particularly good). While our very first impression of the basement apartment was not necessarily quite what we expected, we soon discovered that it was a comfortable, spacious and well-equipped. There was a good internet connection and TV with some streaming options, a well-equipped kitchen (including a complimentary bottle of wine) and a washing machine and dryer that was useful by the third week of our holiday. The PIN code entry worked well and was easier than dealing with a key. The bed was very comfortable, but one side was against the wall which was a bit inconvenient - a slight repositioning with a side-table and lamp on both sides would be great. We would recommend this apartment as a good place to stay while visiting the area.

5-Star Stay

My husband and I had a wonderful 3-day weekend stay here. We were supposed to stay here last year, but due to unforeseen circumstances of a serious leg injury from a skiing accident the day before, and impending surgery which kept us from being able to come, the hosts were so kind to allow us to cancel last minute and keep the payment towards a future stay. That was so incredibly kind of them. We’re so happy we got to come and stay this year. We enjoyed the snowfall the one morning! We were visiting family nearby, so we spent most of the time with family at their house. It was so nice to have our own space in the morning, evening, and to sleep at. The hosts were wonderful. Everything was well-explained with pictures showing the check-in/check-out process, the path was well-lighted, and they shoveled the path for us when it snowed. The apartment was just perfect—everything we could have asked for and more. The hosts made it easy for us to stay there. They provided coffee/tea for our use, a nice little coffee-maker the perfect size for 2 people, dishes, silverware, glasses, etc., and they even provided dish soap. The bathroom was so nice too. Still needing to be careful in the shower after the leg injury, I was grateful that they even had a handicap grab bar to grab onto for steadiness. They even provided soap, shampoo, and conditioner on a mounted dispenser inside the shower. Comfortable bed. Nicely decorated apartment. Hope to stay again!
