2026 Beach Update:

The City of Isle of Palms has approved a beach nourishment project expected to take place Summer–Autumn 2026. While a final schedule has not yet been released, work is anticipated to move along the beach in sections, meaning any impact to a specific area is temporary.

We will share updates as more details become available and are happy to provide guidance based on your travel dates.

Description:

Your family will be delighted with easy beach access after a short lift ride or walk down the steps.   A wooden walkway takes you over the dunes and down to the beach.  “Admiral’s Quarters” has access to the oceanfront swimming complex at Port O Call, located just behind the C building.   

The interior of “Admiral’s Quarters” features many updates including new worktops, stainless steel appliances, cabinetry, wood flooring, flat screen television, Wi-Fi internet service and an updated bathroom.   The bedding configuration makes “Admiral’s Quarters” perfect for small families with a king bed, a daybed plus a sleeper sofa.  Couples will also enjoy “Admiral’s Quarters” for its convenient location.   In less than five minutes, a couple can walk to the Wild Dunes Links Golf Course, driving range, and Huey’s Restaurant and Grill.  

The roof top deck is truly a special feature at “Admiral’s Quarters”.  When not in a beach chair at the edge of the water, most of your holiday will be spent enjoying this incredible view.  From watching giant ships come and go from the Charleston Harbour to fantastic sunsets, the rooftop deck at “Admiral’s Quarters” is the place to be in Wild Dunes.

Parking:
Two cars may park in the Port O Call parking area. 

Beach Chairs and Umbrella:
The Isle of Palms Beach Chair Company will provide your family two classic wooden beach chairs and an umbrella when you stay seven nights (March– October).   These are set up on the beach each morning for your family and removed each night by the crew at IOP Beach Chair Company.

Ideally located, this beach house on the Isle of Palms is an easy drive to Sullivan’s Island, Mount Pleasant and Historic Charleston. Sullivan’s Island (7 miles) features Fort Moultrie and wonderful dining options along Middle Street. In Mount Pleasant (8 miles), your family will want to visit Boone Hall Plantation with its avenue of oaks, the USS Yorktown, Town Centre shopping and the restaurants lining the shrimp docks on Shem Creek. Finally, Historic Charleston (17 miles) is the number one tourism destination in the United States and offers some of the world’s finest restaurants, galleries, historic homes and gardens.

Things to note:

Wild Dunes does not have a central resort pool for all visitors. Most areas and villa communities have their own private pool for guests staying in that specific area. Please note that the pools at the Hyatt Boardwalk Inn, Sweetgrass Inn, and the Sweetgrass Fitness Centre are reserved exclusively for Hyatt hotel guests and are not available to holiday rental guests.

The Wild Dunes Community has a strict no pet policy for non-residents.  Pets are not allowed within the gates of the community.
