Lamlash has four pubs with restaurants, as well as two tea rooms and a pretty bay full of sailing boats. From here, you can hop onto a small ferry from the jetty to the Holy Isle. The cottage has a hilly garden behind and from the top, guests can enjoy splendid views of the village and the bay. Seals live on Lamlash Bay and other bays around the island, and can always be seen resting on the rocks. Arran is a fantastic place to see sea otters, as well as basking sharks and porpoises which are sometimes spotted. Close by, visit the natural cavern known as King’s Cave which inspired Robert the Bruce. Visit the famous standing stone circle at Machrie Moor, which is located in a stunning and mystical setting, on the flat valley floor with a dramatic mountainous backdrop; a photographer’s dream. There are many ancient pre-historic burial sites around the island, the most well-known is the Giants Graves in Whiting Bay. Lamlash is the ideal centre from which to visit these attractions and there is a very good bus service, should people not want to drive.

This is a really nice little cottage with great views of Holy Island, the village is reasonably small but has a local co-op and local restaurants. The owners live just next door and are very friendly & helpful, the cottage has good sized bedrooms, a lounge area and spacious well equipped kitchen complete with a table to sit at. The only small downside to the property is the fact that the bathroom is downstairs at the front so in the middle of the night you have to go down the stairs, through the kitchen and lounge to get to the toilet. This is unfortunately a constraint of the building but the owners have done what they can to assist by installing plugin night lights to guide the way (very helpful).Ample off road parking for a large car available and only 20mins from the ferry terminal. All in all I would definitely book this cottage again.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming self-catering cottage! It was the perfect size for two people and our dog, who absolutely loved exploring the nearby walks. The cottage was cozy, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommend for couples looking for a peaceful retreat with their furry friend.
