Loved the visit and the rustic feel of the cabin! Easy to get to and from Yellowstone. Great location and property, but communication with the property manager could have been a lot better.
The cabin was nicely located close to the park. It was snuggled in a very nicely wooded area. Our stay was wonderful, the property manager Jessica was wonderful, very accommodating and very good at maintaining communication.
Our family spent Thanksgiving in this wonderfully clean, spacious cabin. Everything was great. We enjoyed the hot tub and just hanging out in the cabin when not exploring beautiful Island Park and nearby West Yellowstone.

Vacation at the Pines
Overall good experience at cabin 14. There were cobwebs in corners of the bathrooms and on the deck railings. One of the kitchen chairs had a screw fall out on the seat making the wooden board loose. I would recommend using this cabin againand to other families and friends.
The property was not very clean. Lots of dust and bugs in the basement. The mail floor was tidy. Overall it was a great place to stay other than the basement cleanliness.
This cabin was a great stay for our family of 12. We went to Yellowstone and it was a great distance from Yellowstone. The property did have a lot of little things wrong with it such as refrigerator not working well, dryer did not dry our clothes very well, TV remote was missing and we had to find it, dish washer was about to fall out of the cabinets, and some light switches did not work throughout the house. Overall these are little things that can be fixed and it did not effect us having a great time and making memories.
We enjoyed the cabin, the staff was responsive to issues, parking was an issue
Cabin was as adversited, closer to other cabins than I expected, staff was nice and responsive, beds were comfortable, easy arrival process, dishwasher was not secured into the cabinets so it would tip over when opened and the dry took a long time to get clothes dry. Only real issue was that cabin next to us did not abide by the two vehicles per canin rule causing parking issues, parked in out space once and at times almost blocking us from accessing our drive.
We arrived at the property to find a terrible mold smell in the basement where three of the bedrooms are located. I did not want anyone to get sick from sleeping surrounded by mold for a week. The bottom of the refrigerator was full of water and overflowing out the bottom onto the floor. We had to leave a bath towel inside the fridge in order to keep it from leaking all over the kitchen. My check in information did not include a number for the host (only an email and my service was not good enough at the cabin to be able to email). The instruction book at the property gave a number for a former host. When I finally got in contact with her, she was able to give me the current host's phone number. Lindsey (the current host) said she was already aware of the problems with the basement and the refrigerator. She sounded surprised that the repairman had not already fixed it. I was surprised to hear that they would not ensure that the cabin was in good condition before a guest checked in. We stayed the night because it was too late to find another option. The next morning the repairman did come out and shut off water to the fridge hoping to stop the leak. He confirmed the mold smell in the basement and said there was nothing he could do about it. We checked out after he left because we could not stay where there was such a strong smell of mold and a fridge that was not functioning properly. We lost a day of our vacation dealing with this mess, and the owners refused to acknowledge these known problems.
Stayed in this cabin July 12-18 and it provided enough space for our family (7 adults and two teens). One family in the lower level, another on the main level, and another upstairs. However, the lower level had the worst musty smell and needed to be aired out. I'm not sure if there was water down there recently, but it was awful. The cabin could stand some sprucing up. All appliances need to be updated as well as the living room furniture. Additionally, the railings on the porch are a hazard. The rail that runs along the side of the hot tub does not have spindles and what is there is leaning. There are other parts of the porch rails that we didn't dare lean on either. Halfway through our stay the family staying in the lower space could not use the shower or bathroom as water was backing up. I called the office to ask if maintenance could come out to investigate (assuming maybe the septic needed to be pumped out). This is when I was informed that the cabin was privately owned and not a part of the resort; though she was gracious enough to put a message through to one of their maintenance crew members to check out the situation. In the meantime, I contacted the cabin keeper to inform her of the situation and she gave us the owner's phone number. My husband called the owner to explain the situation and asked what we were supposed to do with the family staying downstairs as the back-up was a concern. The owner proceeded to ask my husband if we had children because someone flushed something down the toilet for this to happen. It was explained that there were NO CHILDREN in the cabin and no one flushed anything down the toilet. The owner told my husband it was difficult to find professionals in the area but that he was working on it. Maintenance (from the resort) arrived the next morning to see what he could do for us. This is when we found out the ejector pump wasn't running and the gentleman told my husband it was replaced just days before our arrival...brand new still under warranty. Maintenance couldn't help because he needed the professional plumber who installed it to come out. Maintenance did called the owner to explain that the pump stopped running. The remainder of our time the family in the lower level didn't have a bathroom. We paid a lot of $$ to stay here and everything should have been working. No apology and no partial refund offered for the trouble. Wish I could recommend but our experience wasn't great here.
We had a great stay at this cabin. The layout allows for room to spread out (big porch, shared living spaces on all 3 floors). The hot tub is perfect after a day of hiking. We drove to the Grand Tetons one day, and spent the rest of our time in Yellowstone. I wish it was a tad closer to the Yellowstone entrance (30 minutes), just because there was already a lot of car time for the kids in the park. The amenities and size of the house outweighed the distance to the park though. Well stocked with the basics (laundry detergent, trash bags, etc.)
Our family really enjoyed this cabin in Island park. It was big enough that we could all spread out and didn't feel like we were on top of each other. We enjoyed cooking family dinners at night after a day of exploring. We definitely would stay here again. Jess the caretaker was so easy to work with the whole experience was seamless.
We had an enjoyable stay. Plenty of space for our party of 9 adults and 1 child. Manager was easily reached and responded quickly. You need to bring all food items including spices as only salt and pepper were supplied. Reasonably priced.
