Getting Around:
Guests will need to make sure they have their own vehicle. Summer months are fine with a small car but four wheel drive is a must in the winter!
Other Things to Note:
What to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling? A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!

This property was very convenient to Yellowstone. The cabin was in a very quiet area with trees all around for privacy. Beds were all comfortable and kitchen was well stocked. The cabin was very clean and well kept. Perfect for our family with 2 tweens, but could easily fit more.
We enjoyed staying here with our family--8 adults, a preschooler and an infant. Immaculate, attractive home with comfortable accommodations for all. Nice touches of many hooks and a drying rack in the laundry room which we used for towels and swimsuits. Two small things to improve would be the dining area and lack of a dishwasher. The chairs and bench are really close to the walls, so getting in and out was challenging. A slightly narrower table would help. We also couldn't find any measuring cups or spoons but perhaps we missed them.
We had a fantastic vacation! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The Hot tub was fun and the fire pit made cooking s’mores great. I would definitely stay here again!
Clean, plenty of room, parking was great, quiet neighborhood and close to all the fun Island Park and Yellowstone have to offer. Hope to return next year!
Beautiful cabin with enough room for all the teens to spread out a bit. Comfy beds, lots of extras on hand. Hosts were quick to respond to questions. Great location- not too far from West Yellowstone, Grand Teton, or food and shopping. An added bonus was the evening visitor to the yard- see picture
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The attention to detail (info on activities and restaurants with menus included), well stocked house and even games made the stay even better. A 30 minute drive to West Yellowstone entrance made this a great location. I highly recommend this place
Our stay was great. I was a little surprised at how close the neighboring home was as it was not something that I noticed in the pictures. Overall great home though.
The cabin was beautiful, the check in process was seamless and the communication was good. Didn’t like the checkout time as it cuts into a whole day but understand as well. It was a good experience
Beautiful place to stay in Island Park. Has a secluded feel, even though there are neighbors on all sides. Nice firepit area in the back - though the outdoor stairs leading to it feel a bit wobbley. Responsiveness of Host was excellent -- we asked them to change out the murky hot tub water and they got it done right away. House was well stocked. I would stay here again.
My husband and I, our two kids (14 and 18), my sister and her bf and my father in law were all very comfortable in this cabin. It's very cozy and clean. About 25 min from West Yellowstone. 20 min from Mesa Falls and 40 min to the top of Sawtell Mt (highly suggest making it up there).
Couple things to be aware of
-Go grocery shopping in one of the bigger cities... everything is pretty expensive
- Watch out for the dog across the street. His name is Jager and he's a good boy but he gets pretty excited and pees. He peed on me, my husband and my sister. He came around quite a bit. Not a mean bone in his body.
-steps to the fire pit and hot tub are kinda shaky. I suggest just going out of the basement.
- you are a little close to neighbors but it's not too bad at all
Highly recommend this cabin! Just have one question.... Why is there a photo of Yosemite and not yellowstone in the living room. 🤔
Stay was good. Nice and quiet property. We felt the upstairs bathroom leak could have been fixed on time, but it wasn’t. Overall a very good place to stay
Beds were so comfortable we didn't want to go home to ours. Driveway could have been plowed better as it hadn't snowed there recently at all, but we were prepared for it luckily.
