Water front property with a wood door that would not shut or lock.
The owners are lovely and were extremely helpful but we were forced to stay in the apartment one afternoon because the front door would not shut or lock. Heavy rain caused the door to swell. We barely got it closed and locked the first night; the owners managed after several hours to close and lock it the following day; but then we couldn't close or lock it the 3rd day. The wood door was clearly an issue in the past because it had been shaved down to fit the space.
We would stay again but only if the wood door is replaced with a proper exterior door that can handle the expected dampness from living on the water.

Great place if they replace the front door.
The basement apartment on the water is lovely and clean, but we could not lock or close the front door because the wood door swelled in the rain. It was ok the first night, but then when we went to leave the next morning, it would not shut or lock. We had to change our plans and wait in the apartment for several hours until the owners remedied the situation. The second night, we were able to lock and close, but then we weren't able to lock and close it the following morning.
Admittedly, it had rained like crazy for three days during our stay, but a basement apartment on the water should probably have an aluminum, not wood, exterior door.
Owners were lovely, extremely attentive, and gave us a small credit.
