Comfort Inn Athens

"Hotels.com screwed up our reservation by locking our charge card for no reason. Thus, the hotel staff could not register us. When I began asking for the details, the motel clerk was very rude. He was obviously annoyed by my questions. I was asking questions so I could contact Hotels.com to help get the issue resolved. I was finally able to get ahold of Hotels.com. They were ready to release the payment. I then told them to just cancel my reservation because this motel did not deserve my business. Hotels.com would not cancel the reservation EVEN THOUGH I HAD BOUGHT THE INSURANCE. Hotels.com advised me to file an insurance claim, so I did. The insurance is a joke. Evidently, rude motel staff is not an acceptable reason to receive a refund. I will never use Hotels.com again. I will be sending a copy of this review to the Comfort Inn corporate office."

"The hotel is pretty old and smells of old smoke. My son stayed here and said it was fine for one night but not the greatest. Breakfast was good. "
OYO Hotel Harriman near I-40

"Do not book here! After a 4 hour drive I arrive to check in with no lobby sign in sight! Proceeded to walk around the “hotel” (more like an extended stay motel) 3x and no sign of where to check in. Tried to call OYO hotel number, no answer. Hotels.com tried, no answer. Tried to call their 1-800 number and someone actually answered but said that Hotels.com should be able to help me. Also while doing my rounds of the hotel in search for the lobby several door were open and you could see they were quite lived in by the pet bowls and trash. It also smelled like one big ash tray with the smell very strong even when you walked away. I’m sure had I stayed there I’d smell like a Waffle House from the 80’s and never get the smoke smell out. Ended up at the Comfort Inn with clean, smoke free rooms and, wait for it, an actual lobby with someone there to help you! And the final kicked is they declined my request for refund so my trip cost me over double what I budgeted. While talking to folks downtown of my experience they told be I made a very wise choice to change hotels. Avoid this place like the plague. Your health and safety is not worth the $50 you might save compared to a real hotel."

"The house was perfect for our family while attending the TN Bass Nation High School Championship. We spent most of our time on the large back patio enjoying the beautiful view of the lake. The cove was peaceful and very quiet. Plenty of parking and space enough for truck and boat/ trailer. The kitchen is large and had everything we needed to cook family meals. The bedrooms were spacious with very comfortable beds. Plenty of bathrooms with amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided. Only minor issue we had was hair dryer was listed as an amenity, but we never found one. Luckily, another person in our party was coming the following day, and was able to bring one. Check in process was easy and communication with host was excellent. We will definitely book again for Bass Nation fishing tournaments at Watts Bar."

"We only interacted with the staff at check in. The gentleman was kind and helpful. There is pretty decent coffee in the morning but no real breakfast - this isn’t that kind of hotel. The room was immaculate and looked newly remodeled. Everything worked. I appreciated the tub with an anti-slip guard adhered to the floor. Have not seen that in other hotels. Will stay there again as we travel through this area. We were only there for one night - checked in around midnight and had to be on the road by 9am."

"This stay was perfect for our little family. The Black Tupelo had everything we needed and was exceptionally comfortable and cozy. Susan and Patrick were phenomenal hosts. They were kind, thoughtful and welcoming which we very much appreciated. When we return to the area, if we are in need of accommodations, this is definitely where we will choose to stay if it’s available! Highly recommend."

"Holiday Inns differ from location to location. I’ve been to 5 star Holiday Inns on the beach to others in Orlando amongst many others. This Sweetwater, TN location is conveniently located to my parents house so I keep coming back. The front desk staff is always helpful. I usually absolutely love all Holiday Inn beds. This is the one location that isn’t as comfortable to me as all the others. They are acceptable not terrible. This location really needs a good carpet cleaning throughout. The hallways stink and there’s stains from many spills. I’m guessing that’s what the stink is about."
