Limneo

Limneo
Irakleia
9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, (10 reviews)
"Day to day running of this small family country B & B type hotel falls to Mum and dad of the real brains of the outfit, Nikos who runs the place as part and parcel of his birdwatching holidays centred on the spectacular Lake kerkini. It is a bit noisy-. On saturday night football fans leaving nearby cafes especially teenage boys make a din on their souped up mopeds, Brrm Brrm! And then there are the cockerels next door.. But in all other respects, nothing is too much trouble with Nikos...

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Irakleia?
The best area to stay in Irakleia is the town centre, particularly around the main square.

This area is the heart of Irakleia, offering a convenient base for exploring. The main square is a focal point, surrounded by local tavernas, cafes, and shops where you can find local produce and crafts. It's a pleasant place to experience local life.

Couples looking for a relaxing holiday will appreciate the town centre. You'll find comfortable guesthouses and small hotels within easy walking distance of everything. Evenings can be spent enjoying traditional Greek food and drinks without needing to travel far.

For visitors interested in nature and outdoor activities, staying in the town centre still works well. It provides easy access to the nearby Kerkini Lake, which is excellent for birdwatching and boating, and the foothills of Mount Beles for hiking.
When is the best time to go to Irakleia?
The best time to go to Irakleia is typically during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and early October. These months offer pleasant weather, ideal for exploring, without the intense heat and larger crowds of mid-summer.

For those planning an active holiday, May and October are particularly good. The temperatures are mild, making it comfortable for hiking and outdoor activities. You'll find fewer visitors at popular spots, allowing for a more relaxed experience.

Families travelling with children might prefer June or September. The sea is warm enough for swimming, and the daytime temperatures are consistently warm but not overwhelmingly hot.
