Our host, Izzy, was absolutely THE best. She is very knowledgable about Invercargill and the surroundng area including the charming village of Bluff. The motel is spotlessly clean. Our stay was was great!

The hotel has added some new units behind the main hotel, and we stayed there. Quiet, clean, and brand new. Ours was an “accessible” room, so very open shower and low countertops. All good. Parking right by our room. A very nice stay!

This was a GREAT property! Izzy (the owner) was so sweet and helpful! The Studio had everything we needed down to the kitchenette! The bed was comfortable with heating pads and all! Jacuzzi bathtub! Would stay here again if ever back in Invercargill!

This is my second time staying at 295 and I cannot recommend it enough. Not only is it affordable, it's conveniently across the road from family. I thoroughly enjoy the amenities (the detachable shower head with hot water and strong pressure is the #1 reason I enjoy staying here) and just how while kept the accommodation is. Always a pleasure 😊

We only stayed one night but the property was very clean and the staff were friendly. The only issue we had was that we had to park on the road when we arrived back from dinner because the carpark was full.

They used wool duvets on their bed. So much nicer than synthetic. Wool is renewable and sustainable

Such clean and fresh studio apartments. Walking distance to countdown, but you would need a car to get into town. Would recomend this motel and will use it again.

295 on Tay has been one of the best motels in NZ. Customer Service is outstanding. The one bedroom unit we had was very good. Also very good unit heating. Bathroom is getting to the stage it could use some attention. The tap to fill the spa bath didn't work. Had to use shower hose. When showering it always leaked onto the floor. Skylight blind has some mould. These are at this stage minor and would not discourage me from staying again.

Reasonably situated, clean fresh looking facility but shower was a bit of an ordeal, warm then cold, burst of hot then freezing cold leaving me sudsed up for what seemed like an age before the temperature changes cycled again. It happened both mornings. I suspect the hot water system doesnt cope when a number of other units are sharing the hot water source.

Great choice for lodging in Invercargill
Hotel staff was terrific!! Check-in was a breeze. In the USA, if you rent from a "Motel", you can expect something small and cramped. But at 295 on Tay Motel, we had a 3-bedroom house with our own parking. Housekeeping service was available every day. The house was very clean, comfortable, and had a well-appointed kitchen. I would most definitely stay here again and I highly recommend 295 on Tay to anyone looking for lodging in Invercargill. Also, the location was close to everything we needed/wanted. Staff was always available if I needed anything. Thank you Geoff and Izzy for your good service.

Well equipped laundry room at the property, and I really appreciated the owners letting me use it after it was supposed to be shut so I could finish my family's washing. Room was nice with a spa bath.
