We tried both dining options for dinner--the informal as well as the Michelin-starred dining room--and both were excellent. "Lovely rustic escape on the beautiful island of Monte Argentario. House was clean and well equipped, and hosts Carmela and Pier were so warm and helpful with ideas of where to visit and which restaurants to try, as well as local info on the beaches and property. Good base to explore the island, and the local beach is only a 5-10 minute walk and not crowded. We had many playful cat visitors in the gardens as well as lizards and a tortoise, and saw wild boar across the island, so definitely a nature lovers choice. Very relaxing week and could not ask for better hosts for our stay here!Note to the road-nervous - the road to Porto Ercole is unpaved and in poor repair, a hard impractical drive even in an SUV. Nearest shops etc and access around the island is through Porto Santo Stefano 30 mins away so plan your visit with that in mind and be sure to get directions for your first arrival!"
