About this property
Mid-Century DJ’s Dream
This is truly a unique experience where the space is actually a destination within itself. You will have access to my record collection. The records can be played on a real dj turntable and a incredibly vintage sound system. I was a DJ at The Pavilion in The Pines on Fire Island and a resident DJ at Splash in NYC. I will personally show you how to play records and will even DJ a secession for you if requested. The music genre includes disco, high energy, new wave, house, popular dance music and more. Including artist like Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Madonna, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure and hundreds of more artists mainly from the years 1978 until 2004. The yard which is one acre with 100s of acres of forest behind it, is beautifully landscaped with beautiful flower gardens personally planted by myself and a beautiful deck to sit and watch my paradise. I will personally bring you on tours of the gardens if requested. The space is in the lower level of my home and separate from my space. You have your own entrance, bathroom and shower. The main room is like a studio apartment, the bedroom and living room together. The next room has a table for eating or working at. This space also has a small kitchen space with a Keurig, dishes, glasses, flatware, mini fridge, microwave, and toaster oven. I supply K-Cups, teas, half & half, and water. There is a private bathroom with a shower. The washer and dryer are in a small open side room in this space. The yard is about an acre of property and you have full use of the yard and if you bring your dog they will just love running in the grass. To top it all off there is even a level 2 EV charger so when you arrive you can plug in and when you wake up in the morning you’re ready to go on your adventure for the day. Located 15 minutes from Rhinebeck which has incredible restaurants including, Le Petit Bistro, The Amsterdam, Terripan, Cinnamon, Market St., Aroi Thai, Gabby’s, The Tavern at Beekman Arms (the oldest Inn in the United States), plus more. Reservations should be made before your arrival for a number of these restaurants. Near many of the gilded age mansions. The Vanderbilt, Mills Estate, FDR Home, Montgomery Place, Olana, Wilderstein, and many more. Near some of the greatest schools in the country. The Culinary Institute of America, Bard, Vassar, Marist, SUNY New Paltz. Make reservations to eat at the Culinary Institute’s many restaurants while you’re here. You should make your reservations well in advance of your trip so plan ahead. If you love wine there are many beautiful wineries in the area but the most beautiful one is right here in Staatsburg just 15 minutes away.

The room was just what we needed- clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Kevin was a great host, and made everything really easy. We will definitely be back!
Great place to stay! Close to many attractions by car - most 10-15 minutes. Clean and comfortable. Kevin has lots of great suggestions on places to go and restaurants.
Beautiful property and grounds. Comfortable rental with nice amenities and mid-century stylings, very private. Friendly host with attentive communication throughout. Perfect for a weekend getaway! Recommended.
Perfect location, we were there for a tour of CIA but it was an ideal location for exploring the area. Loved Rhinebeck Village! Owner was awesome, would stay again.
Clean place, very comfortable bed, everything as in description, lovely that there were extra free channels on tv to watch, quiet location, convenient to get to tourist sites. We loved especially the Mills mansion in Staatsburg, also the River and Post restaurant, enjoyed Rhinebeck and Bocuse restaurant in CIA.
Beautiful property. Enjoyed our dinner on the deck overlooking the gardens. Unit was clean and cool. Appreciated the stocked coffee and water bottles. Very comfortable.
Exactly as described. Clean & comfortable with all the amenities of home . Great for a long weekend getaway. Just a short drive from plenty of restaurants, store and attractions.
Comfortable, clean, great location, friendly home owner, and thoughtful furnishings made this ideal lodging for us. The bed is very comfortable and there's coffee/tea, bottled water, and other complimentary items that we really appreciated. We will definitely be back!

Host gave me a good tour of space. It’s very private with a nice little kitchen. Bed is super comfy. Bathroom is small but adequate for someone of reasonably average proportions.
My daughter needed a place to stay while visiting for the holiday. Kevin was easy to reach and responded quickly. The apartment is very cute and was the perfect size. Everything was clean and had some nice personal touches. Im sure a summertime stay would be lovely, when the garden is in bloom
SUPER comfy bed, great layout, nice and bright bathroom for being a basement. Confusing when you first walk into the garage. We werent sure whether to knock or simply enter the second door. Beautiful garden, adorable kittties running around upstairs, and a great vinyl collection to play while at the property. Thank you Kevin!
Kevin was very kind, friendly, and communicative prior to and during the stay. The place was clean and exactly as advertised. My partner and I live two hours away and we don’t get to spend a lot of time together so it was nice to have a little getaway spot! We will definitely be returning!
My husband and I only stayed for a very brief visit but were quite comfortable in the space which was perfect for our needs. Very clean, convenient to restaurants, shopping and hiking. Kevin was extremely responsive and friendly throughout our time at his home.
We had a great experience during our recent stay. The booking process was smooth and hassle-free, and Kevin's communication was prompt and helpful throughout.
The highlight of our stay was the location itself - a serene and picturesque environment. Whether it was enjoying a morning cup of coffee while watching hummingbirds at the feeder, or exploring the local attractions, this stay provided the perfect backdrop for making lasting memories.
Kevin was great with being flexible about check in time! My sister and I didn't get in until past 9pm and it was no problem! And it's a plus that he's very pet friendly as I had my dog and cat with me!
Cute, simple, clean room on the basement level of a residential house. Kevin, the host, was lovely and warm and also respectful of privacy. The area is quiet and it was nice to sip our coffee on the patio watching the birds.
We had a great overnight stay at DJ’s Dream. Kevin was welcoming and we had the perfect quiet spot to refresh and regroup. Don’t miss the Roosevelt and Vanderbilt attractions in Hyde Park!
