New floating dock provides some further privacy.

Nestled in the valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains of rural southern Virginia, this is the perfect destination whether you are looking for some "downtime" or fun outdoor activities. The one mile tree-lined drive from the entrance starts your relaxing journey. After arriving, relax on the deck and enjoy the splendid views of lake and undeveloped mountains then head for the water.

This smoke free two-bedroom/one-bath vacation rental is situated on the shores of beautiful Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. It features comfortable accommodations and stunning wide-water and mountain views! Perfect for a family getaway, Cedar Key Cabin includes one queen-size bed, two twins, one full bathroom with shower/tub, a TV, DVD, DirectTV, internet access, central heating and air-conditioning, open beams, and hardwood floors. The home sleeps 4 persons comfortably. The great room looks out on beautiful lake views and has access to the large deck. The views are of undeveloped wooded mountains and lake. There's a deck with a charcoal grill and patio furniture. New -- now with private floating dock which is great for swimming and boating. Smith Mountain Lake is Virginia's most popular lake, Smith Mountain Lake, is a boater's and fisherman's paradise. It is Virginia's most popular lake and boasts 500 miles of shoreline on this 40 mile long, 20,000 acre lake. If you have your own boat, you can launch it at nearby boat launch at Mitchell's Point Marina and dock it at the Cabin's dock. Boat rentals and wave runners are available at several lake locations. For the fisherman, we are located on Witcher Creek where the stripers spawn. The lake is stocked with bass, muskies, northern pike, and other small game fish. For those enjoying water activities, the no wake cove is perfect for kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding. Just a short distance from the main channel, enjoy boating, water skiing, jet skiing, wake boarding, parasailing and sailing.

Plan a picnic and enjoy the many miles of walking and hiking trails available. Golf is available at nearby Mariners Landing and 2 other courses.

Perfect weekend getaway - the porch overlooking the lake was so peaceful and where I spent most of my time with the pups. Easy access to fish (and put in a kayak if we had brought it).

Getaway on the Lake

A cozy place right on the Smith Mountain Lake. Well stocked and easy access. Amazing views and very peaceful. Close proximity to hiking spots and not far from Lynchburg and Roanoke. We hope to be back.

Perfect Getaway - Clean and Cozy Cabin Experience

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It was incredibly clean and had everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing and comfortable time. Relaxing get away

Very nice time at smith mountain lake. We did have some communication issues with me not receiving check in instructions but within minutes of reaching out Susan responded to me. With me not reviewing the check in instructions I did not know we had to bring our own linens, but Susan quickly accommodated us which we were extremely grateful for. Overall a wonderful time

Beautiful View

The cabin had everything you could need. The decor is quaint and neatly appointed. The queen bed is incredibly comfortable. The neighborhood is peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. We spent all day on the back deck marveling at the view of the lake and mountains. Gorgeous.

Lovely Cabin & Stay

The owner was very responsive, the cabin was clean, the furniture comfy, the lake was quiet on weekdays (bit more activity on weekend), there is a gorgeous view from the cabin, and there is a spacious elevated deck. This cabin has its own private floating dock (connected to the main shared dock by a small staircase) which was awesome. I recommend this stay, and we hope to be back again.

Quiet retreat for great R&R

Our first time at SML did not disappoint. Cabin was comfortable for the 3 of us and our pup. It was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed to make meals and enjoy them on the deck. We spent a lot of time at the dock/floating dock relaxing, reading, swimming (yes it was cold!!), and soaking in the sun. We brought our canoe and paddleboard and the quiet no wake cove was perfect for paddling and exploring. A great place to unwind and get away from it all. Two things to note: bring sheets and towels and need to take the trash to the convenience center (about 7 mins away). Neither one affected the quality of our stay. Definitely recommend and looking forward to visiting again.

So beautiful and peaceful

The cabin was perfect for my husband, our dog and I. It had everything we needed. The area was breathtaking! We couldn't have asked for a better spot. It was quiet and the views were amazing. This was our first time at SML and we are so glad we visited. We hope to be back next year with my husband's kids and their spouses for a family vacation. If you are looking for a quiet getaway with spectacular views of the lake and the mountains, this cabin is perfect!
