De Hom Hotel Mae Hong Son

De Hom Hotel Mae Hong Son

8/10 Good
"Lovely clean and spacious room, recently renovated. Helpful staff, even lent us an umbrella to get to our car during a rain storm! Plenty of parking. Only slight let down was no breakfast available, probably because only a couple of rooms were in use, but no big problem as there are convenience stores not far away."

"Had a really lovely stay at The Quarter Pai. The buffet breakfast was really good with different options each day. It was walkable to the town but also offered a shuttle service which was nice. The bicycle hire was also a great way to see the town! And the property was stunning!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Huai Pu Ling?
The best area to stay in Huai Pu Ling is within the village itself, particularly near the central temple and the community visitor centre.Huai Pu Ling is a small, remote village located in the mountains of Mae Hong Son Province. The main area of the village is quite compact, with homes and guesthouses clustered around the local temple and a few small shops. This central location offers the most direct interaction with the local community and is the starting point for most activities.Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will find this area ideal. The guesthouses here often provide simple, traditional accommodation with stunning views of the surrounding hills and rice paddies. It's a wonderful place to disconnect, enjoy the natural beauty, and experience the local culture at a relaxed pace. For travellers interested in cultural exchange and an authentic experience, staying centrally allows for easy participation in community activities or visits to local craft workshops.
When is the best time to go to Huai Pu Ling?
The best time to go to Huai Pu Ling is during the cool and dry season, typically from November to February, when the weather is most pleasant for exploring.During these months, you can expect clear skies and comfortable temperatures, making it ideal for outdoor activities like trekking to the local waterfalls or visiting the nearby sunflower fields. The cooler weather also means fewer mosquitoes, which is a definite plus for enjoying the natural beauty of the area. This period is superb for travellers seeking a comfortable and active holiday. The shoulder seasons, March to May (hot season) and June to October (rainy season), can also be considered, but with some caveats. The hot season brings higher temperatures, which might be less comfortable for extensive outdoor exploration, though the landscape remains lush. The rainy season offers a different kind of beauty with vibrant green scenery and fewer tourists, but you should be prepared for daily downpours which can impact travel plans and road conditions.
