"We had an amazing stay at the cottage. It was cozy and had all the amenities needed to feel right at home. The design and little touches were so thoughtful and lovely. Really made for a special stay in Hella. The hosts were wonderful at communicating and really created a special little place here on their farm. We would absolutely stay here again on our next trip to Iceland! "

"We have been guests at the Afternoon Cottages twice. We stayed in #4 the first time and #5 the second time. They are mirror images of each other. Everything was clean and the location is perfect for seeing the Aurora as long as the sky is clear. Communication with the property manager was easy and effortless and on our first stay we even extended it by a day. I highly recommend the Afternoon Cottages."

"Just came back from a great stay at one of the cottages. Rosa was a pleasure. Met us a minute after we arrived and showed us how everything worked. The cottage is quiet and remote but just a few minutes outside Selfoss which was a lovely little town with everything you could need. It’s a few minutes from Rt 1 so if you’re traveling around, it’s a great location. Would absolutely stay there again if given the chance."

"Cute little cabin in a very quiet, remote location. Well-equipped but very small (there’s barely enough space to walk around the beds) so I wouldn’t recommend it for more than four people. Guests are supposed to clean before leaving but clearly, not everyone does and the bathroom was filthy when we arrived. Bad surprise! "

"We stayed five nights in April 2024. We were treated to the Northern Lights our first night. The house is spacious, clean and modern. The beds are very comfortable. It sleeps ten in beds. The area is super quiet. The hot tub is pristine. The host was great and had good documents. The trash/recycling system could be a little more well documented. We did the golden circle, two hot springs and the southern beaches (where we saw Puffins!) Great stay, thanks so much!"

"Upon arrival, we were impressed by the beautiful landscapes. The cabin itself was clean and modern. From the central space, one window offered a view of Icelandic horses. The other was nearly floor to ceiling where we caught sight of the Northern Lights. Renate was quick to respond and help us when we reached out. "So it’s my twins 21st birthday and I wanted to do something memorable. So I took them to Iceland and stayed at an amazing VRBO. Here are my top 3 reasons for 5 stars: 1. Location - it’s in a town that’s close to some of the main geologic attractions in Iceland (Gulfoss, the south coast, etc.). The town also has a supermarket and some surprisingly good restaurants (even a mushroom farmer who has a family restaurant). 2. The quality of the VRBO. Plenty of room for 5 adults in a new neighborhood...
