A perfect stay....
Beautiful place; a simple but warm and comfortable cabin with a breathtaking view. Great walks, fresh air and wilderness. Eldar and his father were kind, lovely and interesting people. I would love to revisit.

An Idyllic, peaceful spot from which to explore!
We could not have found a more picturesque place to stay on our first visit to Norway. The views from the stone cabin were stunning and the information provided helped us to explore the local area with ease. We enjoyed borrowing the mountain bikes for a short cycle and admiring all the fantastic wood carvings on the way to view the lake. The cabin had everything you needed in order to cook decent meals, however we shopped in Bergen before we arrived, as the local shop is only small. We did have a bit of trouble trying not to set off the smoke alarm when cooking! The bedroom was cosy and the bed was quite small for two adults (one being 6”3), however we still managed to get a fairly good night’s sleep each night. The shower lacked power but was lovely and warm after a rainy hike! We had some fun learning to play Yahtzee and Chess in the evenings and relaxing on the sofa. We would definitely return and are missing the peaceful views already!

Quiet and comfortable place with amazing views
We stayed for 5 days; relaxing, hiking and cycling. We found the Stone Cabin as a fully comfortable small apartment, equipped with all details needed. It was wonderful time for walking and hiking (one longer trip with spectacular views of waterfalls and lakes), having one-day visit to Bergen from here. We do recommend this place for all nature lovers. Joanna & Stefan

Awesome cabin in a stunning place
The stone cabin was a superb place to stay in this part of Norway. Each cabin in the group here is quite private and the stone cabin was suprisingly airy and roomy given it is the smallest one. All the facilities we needed for our stay were there, making it easy to go self-catering. The information Eldar has provided about local walks, ferries etc. were useful, and his farm is the ideal starting to point for a lot of hikes around the nearby national park. Ortnevik itself is only down the road and again has hiking trails and a ferry to cross to the north of Sognefjord that are easy to access. Check-in was easy, the cabin was clean and tidy when we arrived, and Eldar was friendly and welcoming when we saw him. Cannot recommend it highly enough and would definitely return.

Wonderful, cosy and beautiful in every way :)
This was just what my son and I needed for a break away. I had always wanted to visit Norway and it lived up to my dreams. The scenery was beautiful, so peaceful and unspoilt. The little cabin was perfect; so clean, cosy and perfect. Eldar collected and dropped us from the bus stop. He was a lovely, friendly host who answered any questions and was always very helpful. Thank you very much. We hope to come back one day - hopefully we might see the Northern Lights next time :)
