The COVID-19 outbreak has resulted in substantial changes to the way we travel. If you're planning a holiday in Houtskar Island, these tips will help you navigate the "new normal:"

• Before you book a flight, find out if any travel restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Get the latest updates by reviewing government and travel websites.
• Keep your face mask on even during airport screening. A TSA officer will ask you to temporarily lower your mask for ID purposes.
• Instead of handing a TSA officer your boarding pass, position it straight on the scanner yourself. Then, hold it up for inspection.
• You are now permitted to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your hand luggage. This will need to be taken out for X-ray screening.
• Empty everything from your pocket, such as your phone, keys and wallet, and place them in your carry-on instead of the bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
• Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Keeping food separate from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA employee will need to open and touch your bag for inspection.
