We arrived 10 minutes before check-in and the cleaners were still cleaning the property. Upon entering the property we noticed the smell of what appeared to be pet odor. We walked through the property to verify functionality, and immediately noticed that 3 of the 4 smoke detectors were missing. Some of the blinds were damaged and missing the rod to open them. The comforters and pillow cases also had stains on them. We immediately went to Walmart and purchased lysol and two new comforter sets with sheets and pillow cases and placed them over the existing ones because we weren't comfortable sleeping on them. When we opened the kitchen cabinets we were greeted by a roach. The flusher arm on the inside of the toilet was broken, so anytime that we had to flush, we had to take the lid off of the bowl and manually pull the chain. Also, the prior tenants had taken the gate clicker so on the 1st day/night we had to message the host through the vrbo app any time that we wanted to gain entry onto the property.
