Boutique room, super location, great service.

Location, locaion, location. It was fantastic. The rooms were extraordinarily classy. We woke up to a view of Mt Pico on Pico island across the water. Only possible improvment would be a more delicious breakfast!

It's a very pretty Hotel at the sea. Unfortunately there are only cobblestone streets around the hotel, what makes it very noisy. Also as it's an older building you can hear absolutely everything from other rooms (including bathrooms). So if you're noise sensitive, I would not recommend it.

Although there is much to like about this property, it is far from perfect. But I gave it four stars due to the location, which is wonderful and in the heart of the city, very close to everything. But that is also the problem, this hotel can be extremely noisy at night when cars and motorbikes are whizzing by. And the best rooms, those facing the harbor, have the most noise. We found it quite difficult to fall asleep at night. That said, the room was lovely, very nicely decorated and the staff was friendly but not exceptionally well trained. For example, one staff member entered our room without permission while we were napping on the beds! Although he did knock first, I didn't hear him because I was wearing noise-cancelling headphones (see above). There are no deadbolts or manual locks to keep people from entering like this and you have to use your key to exit the room, which would be illegal in the US. He apologized but went on to explain at length that somebody had reported a "problem" in the room. All while my wife and I were laying on the beds! Very unprofessional, although I'm sure this is not an everyday occurrence. In conclusion, the hotel looks great, the rooms are lovely but quite noisy at times and the staff is friendly but not well-trained. Still, because of the rooms and location I'll give it a 4.

Super Hotel!

Die Zimmer sind chic, geräumig und in einem erstklassigen Zustand. Die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption und vom Housekeeping sind immer hilfsbereit und immer sehr freundlich. Zuverlässiges und schnelles WLAN. Einziger Minuspunkt ist wirklich das Frühstück- es wird bereits um kurz nach 8h nichts mehr nachgefüllt. Man muss jedes Mal um die notwenigsten Sachen bitten. Stattdessen sitzt der Mitarbeiter dort nur an seinem Handy...Sehr sehr schade! Vielleicht anstatt dessen Frühstücksgutscheine für das gegenüberliegende Café herausgeben.

Historisches Haus mitten in Horta

Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer mit wunderbarem Blick auf den Hafen von Horta und auf die Insel Pico. Das Zimmer war sehr gross, sauber, mit 2 getrennten Betten und sehr viel Stauraum. Die ganze Einrichtung des Hotels ist einfach, aber zweckmässig. Die Betten sind sehr gut, das Zimmer ist aber sehr hell und solange in der Stadt noch Betrieb kann man den Strassenverkehr hören. Im Zimmer gibt es aber Schlafmasken und Oropax Das Frühstück war schlecht, so dass wir stets auswärts in einer Bäckerei frühstücken waren, die etwa 5 Gehminuten vom Hotel entfernt ist.
