A hidden gem! Location is private, quiet and peaceful. The cabin is very clean and the owner is very quick to respond to any questions. We enjoyed our stay. We brought our UTV and enjoyed the freedom of riding some of the local dirt roads and also went to Tall Pines. We slept on the futon downstairs because the steps to the loft scared me!
The property was very clean and well equipped with items needed for our stay! Very quiet and scenic. We enjoyed time outside having a campfire, using the fire table and fishing. Communication with the host was very easy.
We had a fabulous 4th at The Sugar Shack!! Everything was so clean and comfortable!! We had a great time fishing and having a fire at night looking up at all the stars and watching the fire flies. We had to adjust our stay right before and Craig was more than accommodating!! We will definitely be returning to The Sugar Shack.
My family recently stayed at this lovely retreat. The photos do not give justice to this place. It is minutes from town, but makes you feel as though you are much further out. The cabin is meticulously maintained with all of the basics you need in the kitchen and bathroom. The pond is stocked with fish and the fire pit is ready to go. At night, fireflies light up the woods and add to magical ambiance. The owners were helpful and communicative. Everything we needed or needed to know how to operate was in the cabin binder. I would like to add that if you stay here you absolutely must.... go horseback riding at Overland Morgan Horse Farm, and you must grab breakfast pastries from the Laine women who sell them in the old Beaver Pharmacy building by the stop light in Canisteo. Also, if you don't mind the drive, white water rafting (mild rapids) at Letchworth park is a breath-taking experience you will never forget.I hope to stay here with my family again soon!
