-Lovely hotel in quaint old building, set in pretty gardens.
-Spacious bedroom overlooking rose garden. Bed moderately comfortable. Surprisingly quiet despite hum of planes taking off from nearby Gatwick.
-Bathroom compact but thoughtfully laid out. Bath could do with some attention: surrounding little tiles had mostly lost their grouting.
-Interesting meal though have had better at lower prices.
-Easy to get to London via train (Horley or Gatwick stations).
The only difficultly was getting the bus to the hotel from Gatwick Airport. It's not listed on the list hotels serviced by the shuttle buses at the Gatwick airport bus stop. Nor was the hotel staff reachable via phone... just got an unavailable message.
Comfortable. Clean. Courteous Staff... Extremely good experience and will return! To date the most friendly, helpful and professional staff I have encountered while traveling. Ever. The lounge and restaurant staff were efficient and wonderful and all encounters with the front desk were cheerful, helpful and professional. Proximity, frequency and ease of the airport shuttle dropping at their front door added to this positive experience and was a relief after a long day traveling. I would happily give this experience 10 stars... well done ladies and gents of Holiday Inn Gatwick!
The staff at Gatwick Turret Guest House are very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. The guest house is in a very quiet area. Even though we had our windows open all night, we did not hear planes landing and taking off at nearby Gatwick. The breakfast was lovely, and there was a shuttle to the airport (about 5 minutes away).
"Convenient for airport but some distance from our "
Unfortunate wlcome but rectified next morning. Some plumbing problems, blocked washbasin sink, poor cold water flow on bath taps. Bathroom door not on runners. Minor problems but do need to be rectified.
